Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to compare the impact on the properties of low-cement castable (LCC) refractories integrating a new calcined alumina from Alteo with other reactive aluminas. It states that the cone test method was used to compare the flowability of alumina. Result shows that the setting times and flowability of the LCCs with very fine milled alumina are the same with or better than those of LCCs made with commercially reactive aluminas.
