Abstract

In this article, the author offers information on the factors affecting the firefighters health and weight loss programs for them. It mentions that the evidence suggests a number of work-related risk factors associated with fire and emergency services contribute to and increase the risk of poor health including extreme heat, dehydration and shift work. It also mentions that after 9/11 attacks, there has been an increased understanding of the health challenges firefighters face.
