The National Defense journal has been recognized for its cover design and column writing at the Society of Professional Journalists award ceremony. The National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) has appointed retired Navy Vice Adm. Sean Buck as its new president. Buck, who retired in 2023 after a 40-year Navy career, will bring his experience in military operations and strategic planning to his new role. The NTSA organizes the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference, the world's largest military training and simulation conference. The Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict Division is accepting nominations for the R. Lynn Rylander Award and the DeProspero Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognize individuals who have made significant contributions in the areas of special operations, low intensity conflict, or irregular warfare.
