Abstract

The article examines the use of antidepressants in children that raised issues related to the increased suicidal thoughts and behavior. GlaxoSmithKline found out that there is a possible association of suicidal thoughts and behavior with the use of paroxetine in children with major depressive disorder (MDD). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved fluoxetine as the only antidepressant for children and adolescents with MDD.
