Abstract

The article reports on the development of a green die-casting technology by Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) engineers in Australia. The technology uses innovative runner design in modifying melt consistency before die-casting. It is found suitable for magnesium and aluminum alloys. Moreover, it does not necessitate the overflow openings on the dies' exit side.
