Information about several papers discussed at the annual Pacific Basin Conference held at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco on June 16-17, 2006 is presented. The conference discusses several international topics including the determining factors of the U.S. current account shortage, the interest rate parity puzzle, monetary integration in East Asia and other developments in Asia. Moreover, the conference was sponsored by the Bank's Center for Pacific Basin Studies.

Abstract
Presents informational resources related to Federal Reserve banks in the U.S. Introduction of the Fiscal Impact Tool by the U.S. Board of Governors which is intended to evaluate the impact of economic development projects undertaken by communities; Release of conference papers by the Boston Federal Reserve Bank which focused on women leaders in business.
Argues that the Federal Reserve Bank in the United States has principles, experience and reputation to lead initiatives in the provision of retail electronic payment services. Review of an essay published in 2000 that presents principles to guide the federal bank in the transition from paper check to electronic payments; Lessons learned from the bank's previous experiences with electronic payment; How the reputation of the bank affects its goal of being the leader in payment services.
