Abstract

The article provides information about a new ultra-wideband double balanced mixer (DBM), which uses a compact planar balun. It discusses the use of a T-junction formed by side coupled slotlines (SCSL) and microstrip with a wideband microstrip to SCSL transition in order to meet the requirements for ultra-wideband operation. Information about the balun's balanced ports is also provided.
