The article provides an overview of electronic loads including switched resistance, regenerative, MOSFET and the newly introduced hybrid, active resistance, and their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages and disadvantages include cost and speed of operation, and loading as a function of applied voltage. It also mentions that the active resistance topology has characteristics of switched resistance and MOSFET loads combined.
