The article presents information about the "Journal of Accounting Case Research." This journal helps answer the challenges to teaching by enhancing the supply of fresh complex problems for the classroom. Being a refereed journal, the quality of the cases is superior to those generally found as end-of-chapter material in textbooks. Published three times a year by the Accounting Education Resource Centre of the University of Lethbridge, each issue contains ten to twelve cases covering a variety of topics. Some of the subjects examined include ethics, cost data validity, pension plans, small business concerns, startup companies, information technology - the list goes on. situations. The cases vary in difficulty from elementary to the most advanced courses. Indeed, several could be tackled only by graduate students. While most are fictitious, some discuss actual events. The proper handling of complex cases is critical; most students have never seen such problems and may fear what they do not know. Thus, it seems logical to assign a case to multiple groups and give the groups ample time to reach conclusions they present both orally and in writing. This approach would develop students' analytic and communication skills. Additionally, the variety of feasible interpretations developed by the groups should increase students' tolerance for ambiguity.
