But without a political constituency in organized labor and an internationalist perspective, it is difficult to see just how far the current Keynesian revival can go in any one country - much less the international investment management full employment will require. Klein's and Pettis' intervention into this debate is most welcome, but their account may have benefited from greater attention to the era when governments actually pursued government spending and full employment.
