This article provides information about various exhibitions to be held in coming months. At Durand-Ruel's Gallery in New York city six paintings by Edouard Manet are now on exhibition. The collection at the late "Theron R Butler," of New York city, which is rich in paintings of the Barbizon school, is to be sold next month. It will be on view at the American Art Galleries, Madison Square South, from January 1, 1910 to January 7, 1910. On the evening of the latter date the pictures will be sold at Mendelssohn Hall. A catalogue richly illustrated with photogravures limited to one hundred and twenty-five copies, has been issued in connection with this sale at $15 the copy.

In this article, the author critically appraises the motion picture, "H-2 Worker," produced and directed by Stephanie Black. In this film, Black and her crew have undertaken the hard task of charming and wheedling their way into the work camps-sneaking in, too, when all else failed-in order to bring these people to light. The film, a co-winner of the prize for best documentary at this year's Sundance United States Film Festival, was recently shown in the New Directors/New Films series. It will be on view again on April 18, 1990, in the Documentary Festival of New York City at the Public Theater.

Highlights from the article: This publication contains a collection of papers presented at the British Association of Paintings Conservator-Restorers (BAPCR) conference, I A Changing Art: Nineteenth-century Painting Practice and Conservation i , held on 7th October 2016 at the Wallace Collection, London. The publication is largely aimed at practising conservators and technical art historians, and several of the contributions give detailed accounts of past conservation treatments, whilst others present research involving the technical analysis of paintings. However, in reviewing this book as both a paintings conservator and technical art historian, I feel that some of the images could have been made slightly larger, especially considering the small format of the publication (17.5 × 24.6cm).

Believing that false pictures had been sold him, W.T. Evans appealed to the courts for redress. Ordinarily, the most that a victimized amateur will do is to demand restitution of his money, sending the fraudulent pictures back to be sold to somebody else. There are a number of dealers who frequently redeem the worse than rubbish they have sold. Certain dealers frequently take back pictures without challenge or even perfunctory attempt at authentication.
