Automatic animation line art colorization is a challenging computer vision problem, since the information of the line art is highly sparse and abstracted and there exists a strict requirement for the color and style consistency between frames. Recently, a lot of Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) based image-to-image translation methods for single line art colorization have emerged. They can generate perceptually appealing results conditioned on line art images. However, these methods can not be adopted for the purpose of animation colorization because there is a lack of consideration of the in-between frame consistency. Existing methods simply input the previous colored frame as a reference to color the next line art, which will mislead the colorization due to the spatial misalignment of the previous colored frame and the next line art especially at positions where apparent changes happen. To address these challenges, we design a kind of correlation matching feature transfer model (called CMFT) to align the colored reference feature in a learnable way and integrate the model into an U-Net based generator in a coarse-to-fine manner. This enables the generator to transfer the layer-wise synchronized features from the deep semantic code to the content progressively. Extension evaluation shows that CMFT model can effectively improve the in-between consistency and the quality of colored frames especially when the motion is intense and diverse., Comment: 8pages,6 figures

Pressure-induced phase transitions of multiferroic BiFeO3 have been investigated using synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction with diamond anvil cell technique at room temperature. Present experimental data clearly show that rhombohedral (R3c) phase of BiFeO3 first transforms to monoclinic (C2/m) phase at 7 GPa, then to orthorhombic (Pnma) phase at 11 GPa, which is consistent with recent theoretical ab initio calculation. However, we observe another peak at 2{\theta}=7{\deg} in the pressure range of 5-7 GPa that has not been reported previously. Further analysis reveals that this reflection peak is attributed to the orthorhombic (Pbam) phase, indicating the coexisting of monoclinic phase with orthorhombic phase in low pressure range., Comment: 10pages,7figures

Quantifying global photosynthesis remains a challenge due to a lack of accurate remote sensing proxies. Solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) has been shown to be a good indicator of photosynthetic activity across various spatial scales. However, a global and spatially challenging estimate of terrestrial gross primary production (GPP) based on satellite SIF remains unresolved due to the confounding effects of species-specific physical and physiological traits and external factors, such as canopy structure or photosynthetic pathway (C3orC4). Here we analyze an ensemble of far-red SIF data from OCO-2 satellite and ground observations at multiple sites, using the spectral invariant theory to reduce the effects of canopy structure and to retrieve a structure-corrected total canopy SIF emission (SIF total). We find that the relationships between observed canopy-leavingSIF and ecosystem GPP vary significantly among biomes. In contrast, the relationships between SIF total and GPP converge around two unique models, one for C3and one for C4plants. We show that the two single empirical models can be used to globally scale satellite SIF observations to terrestrial GPP. We obtain an independent estimate of global terrestrial GPP of 129.56 ± 6.54 PgC/year for the 2015–2017 period, which is consistent with the state-of-the-art data- and process-oriented models. The new GPP product shows improved sensitivity to previously undetected ‘hotspots’ of productivity, being able to resolve the double-peak in GPP due to rotational cropping systems. We suggest that the direct scheme to estimate GPP presented here, which is based on satelliteSIF, may open up new possibilities to resolve the dynamics of global terrestrial GPP across space and time.

The article presents an overview of the environmental, nitrogen, and historical setting of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Topics discussed include changes in water-quality management in developed areas, modeling the effect of nitrogen loads from multiple changes in the watershed and excess nitrogen impacts on coastal areas across the U.S. and the world.
