Abuse in its various forms, including physical, psychological, verbal, sexual, financial, and cultural, has a negative impact on mental health. However, there are limited studies on applying natural language processing (NLP) in this field in Vietnam. Therefore, we aim to contribute by building a human-annotated Vietnamese dataset for detecting abusive content in Vietnamese narrative texts. We sourced these texts from VnExpress, Vietnam's popular online newspaper, where readers often share stories containing abusive content. Identifying and categorizing abusive spans in these texts posed significant challenges during dataset creation, but it also motivated our research. We experimented with lightweight baseline models by freezing PhoBERT and XLM-RoBERTa and using their hidden states in a BiLSTM to assess the complexity of the dataset. According to our experimental results, PhoBERT outperforms other models in both labeled and unlabeled abusive span detection tasks. We analyze plankton-nutrient food chain models composed of phytoplankton, herbivorous zooplankton and a limiting nutrient. These models have played a key role in understanding the dynamics of plankton in the oceanic layer. Given the strong environmental and seasonal fluctuations that are present in the oceanic layer, we propose a stochastic model for which we are able to fully classify the longterm behavior of the dynamics. In order to achieve this we had to develop new analytical techniques, as the system does not satisfy the regular dissipativity conditions and the analysis is more subtle than in other population dynamics models., Comment: 26 pages

Identifying and exploring emerging trends in the news is becoming more essential than ever with many changes occurring worldwide due to the global health crises. However, most of the recent research has focused mainly on detecting trends in social media, thus, benefiting from social features (e.g. likes and retweets on Twitter) which helped the task as they can be used to measure the engagement and diffusion rate of content. Yet, formal text data, unlike short social media posts, comes with a longer, less restricted writing format, and thus, more challenging. In this paper, we focus our study on emerging trends detection in financial news articles about Microsoft, collected before and during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic (July 2019 to July 2020). We make the dataset accessible and propose a strong baseline (Contextual Leap2Trend) for exploring the dynamics of similarities between pairs of keywords based on topic modelling and term frequency. This paper focuses on and analyzes realistic SIR models that take stochasticity into account. The proposed systems are applicable to most incidence rates that are used in the literature including the bilinear incidence rate, the Beddington-DeAngelis incidence rate, and a Holling type II functional response. Given that many diseases can lead to asymptomatic infections, we look at a system of stochastic differential equations that also includes a class of hidden state individuals, for which the infection status is unknown. We assume that the direct observation of the percentage of hidden state individuals that are infected, $\alpha(t)$, is not given and only a noise-corrupted observation process is available. Using the nonlinear filtering techniques in conjunction with an invasion type analysis (or analysis using Lyapunov exponents from the dynamical system point of view), this paper proves that the long-term behavior of the disease is governed by a threshold $\lambda\in \mathbb{R}$ that depends on the model parameters. It turns out that if $\lambda<0$ the number $I(t)$ of infected individuals converges to zero exponentially fast, or the extinction happens. In contrast, if $\lambda>0$, the infection is endemic and the system is permanent. We showcase our results by applying them in specific illuminating examples. In this paper, the cosmic phase transition is investigated by background gauge field method. As a continuation of previous our work, some numerical results and graphic solutions at $T\neq 0$ are presented. Hence the mechanism of cosmic phase transition in the early Universe is considered. It is shown that the breaking of symmetry significantly depend on the nonzero temperature and chemical potential. Furthermore, it is the first order of phase transition. This paper focuses on systems of nonlinear second-order stochastic differential equations with multi-scales. The motivation for our study stems from mathematical physics and statistical mechanics, for examples, Langevin dynamics and stochastic acceleration in a random environment. Our effort is to carry out asymptotic analysis to establish large deviations principles. Our focus is on obtaining the desired results for systems under weaker conditions. When the fast-varying process is a diffusion, neither Lipschitz continuity nor linear growth needs to be assumed. Our approach is based on combinations of the intuition from Smoluchowski-Kramers approximation, and the methods initiated in [34] relying on the concepts of relatively large deviations compactness and the identification of rate functions. When the fast-varying process is under a general setup with no specified structure, the paper establishes the large deviations principle of the underlying system under the assumption on the local large deviations principles of the corresponding first-order system.

In this paper we study the long term dynamics of two prey species and one predator species. In the deterministic setting, if we assume the interactions are of Lotka-Volterra type (competition or predation), the long term behavior of this system is well known. However, nature is usually not deterministic. All ecosystems experience some type of random environmental fluctuations. We incorporate these into a natural framework as follows. Suppose the environment has two possible states. In each of the two environmental states the dynamics is governed by a system of Lotka-Volterra ODE. The randomness comes from spending an exponential amount of time in each environmental state and then switching to the other one. We show how this random switching can create very interesting phenomena. In some cases the randomness can facilitate the coexistence of the three species even though coexistence is impossible in each of the two environmental states. In other cases, even though there is coexistence in each of the two environmental states, switching can lead to the loss of one or more species. This work develops new results for stochastic approximation algorithms. The emphases are on treating algorithms and limits with discontinuities. The main ingredients include the use of differential inclusions, set-valued analysis, and non-smooth analysis, and stochastic differential inclusions. Under broad conditions, it is shown that a suitably scaled sequence of the iterates has a differential inclusion limit. In addition, it is shown for the first time that a centered and scaled sequence of the iterates converges weakly to a stochastic differential inclusion limit. The results are then used to treat several application examples including Markov decision process, Lasso algorithms, Pegasos algorithms, support vector machine classification, and learning. Some numerical demonstrations are also provided.

In this paper we present a novel method for estimating the parameters of a parametric diffusion processes. Our approach is based on a closed-form Maximum Likelihood estimator for an approximating Continuous Time Markov Chain (CTMC) of the diffusion process. Unlike typical time discretization approaches, such as psuedo-likelihood approximations with Shoji-Ozaki or Kessler's method, the CTMC approximation introduces no time-discretization error during parameter estimation, and is thus well-suited for typical econometric situations with infrequently sampled data. Due to the structure of the CTMC, we are able to obtain closed-form approximations for the sample likelihood which hold for general univariate diffusions. Comparisons of the state-discretization approach with approximate MLE (time-discretization) and Exact MLE (when applicable) demonstrate favorable performance of the CMTC estimator. Simulated examples are provided in addition to real data experiments with FX rates and constant maturity interest rates.

This paper develops stability and stabilization results for systems of fully coupled jump diffusions. Such systems frequently arise in numerous applications where each subsystem (component) is operated under the influence of other subsystems (components). This paper derives sufficient conditions under which the underlying coupled jump diffusion is stable. The results are then applied to investigate the stability of linearizable jump diffusions, fast-slow coupled jump diffusions. Moreover, weak stabilization of interacting systems and consensus of leader-following systems are examined.

This work, Part II, together with its companion Part I develops a new framework for stochastic functional Kolmogorov equations, which are nonlinear stochastic differential equations depending on the current as well as the past states. Because of the complexity of the problems, it is natural to divide our contributions into two parts to answer a long-standing question in biology and ecology. What are the minimal conditions for long-term persistence and extinction of a population? Part I of our work provides characterization of persistence, whereas in this part, extinction is the main focus. The main techniques used in this paper are combination of the newly developed functional It^o formula and a dynamical system approach. Compared to the study of stochastic Kolmogorov systems without delays, the main difficulty is that infinite dimensional systems have to be treated. The extinction is characterized after investigating random occupation measures and examining behavior of functional systems around boundaries. Our characterizations of long-term behavior of the systems reduces to that of Kolmogorov systems without delay when there is no past dependence. A number of applications are also examined.

This work (Part (I)) together with its companion (Part (II) [45]) develops a new framework for stochastic functional Kolmogorov equations, which are nonlinear stochastic differential equations depending on the current as well as the past states. In contrast to the existing literature, our effort is to advance the knowledge by allowing delay and past dependence, yielding essential utility to a wide range of applications. A long-standing question of fundamental importance pertaining to biology and ecology is: What are the minimal necessary and sufficient conditions for long-term persistence and extinction (or for long-term coexistence of interacting species) of a population? Regardless of the particular applications encountered, persistence and extinction are properties shared by Kolmogorov systems. While there are many excellent treaties of stochastic-differential-equation-based Kolmogorov equations, the work on stochastic Kolmogorov equations with past dependence is still scarce. Our aim here is to answer the aforementioned basic question. This work, Part (I), is devoted to characterization of persistence, whereas its companion, Part (II) [45], is devoted to extinction. The main techniques used in this paper include the newly developed functional It^o formula and asymptotic coupling and Harris-like theory for infinite dimensional systems specialized to functional equations. General theorems for stochastic functional Kolmogorov equations are developed first. Then a number of applications are examined to obtain new results substantially covering, improving, and extending the existing literature. Furthermore, these conditions reduce to that of Kolmogorov systems when there is no past dependence.

The functional integral method can be used in quantum mechanics to find the scattering amplitude for particles in the external field. We will obtain the potential scattering amplitude form the complete Green function in the corresponding external field through solving the Schrodinger equation, after being separated from the poles on the mass shell, which takes the form of an eikonal (Glauber) representation in the high energy region and the small scattering angles. Exponential tightness of a family of Skorohod integrals is studied in this paper. We first provide a counterexample to illustrate that in general the exponential tightness with speed $\epsilon$ similar to It\^o integral does not hold, even for any speed $\epsilon^\alpha$ with $\alpha > 0$. Then, some characterizations of this subject are given. Application is also provided to illustrate the proposed results.

In contrast to the study of Langevin equations in a homogeneous environment in the literature, the study on Langevin equations in randomly-varying environments is relatively scarce. Almost all the existing works require random environments to have a specific formulation that is independent of the systems. This paper aims to consider large deviations principles (LDPs) of Langevin equations involving a random environment that is a process taking value in a measurable space and that is allowed to interact with the systems, without specified formulation on the random environment. Examples and applications to statistical physics are provided. Our formulation of the random environment presents the main challenges and requires new approaches. Our approach stems from the intuition of the Smoluchowski-Kramers approximation. The techniques developed in this paper focus on the relation between the solutions of the second-order equations and the associate first-order equations. We obtain the desired LDPs by showing a family of processes enjoy the exponential tightness and local LDPs with an appropriate rate function.

This work is devoted to the development and analysis of a linearization algorithm for microscopic elliptic equations, with scaled degenerate production, posed in a perforated medium and constrained by the homogeneous Neumann-Dirichlet boundary conditions. This technique plays two roles: to guarantee the unique weak solvability of the microscopic problem and to provide a fine approximation in the macroscopic setting. The scheme systematically relies on the choice of a stabilization parameter in such a way as to guarantee the strong convergence in $H^1$ norm for both the microscopic and macroscopic problems. In the standard variational setting, we prove the $H^1$-type contraction at the micro-scale based on the energy method. Meanwhile, we adopt the classical homogenization result in line with corrector estimate to show the convergence of the scheme at the macro-scale. The asymptotic behavior of the scattering amplitude for two scalar particles at high energies with fixed momentum transfers is studied. The study is done within the effective theory of quantum gravity based on quasi-potential equation. By using the modified perturbation theory, a systematic method is developed to find the leading eikonal scattering amplitudes together with corrections to them in the one-loop gravitational approximation. The relation is established and discussed between the solutions obtained by means of the operator and functional approaches applied to quasi-potential equation. This work proposes and analyzes a family of spatially inhomogeneous epidemic models. This is our first effort to use stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) to model epidemic dynamics with spatial variations and environmental noise. After setting up the problem, existence and uniqueness of solutions of the underlying SPDEs are examined. Then definitions of permanence and extinction are given. Certain sufficient conditions are provided for the permanence and extinction. Our hope is that this paper will open up windows for investigation of epidemic models from a new angle.

We deal with a class of semilinear nonlocal differential equations in Hilbert spaces which is a general model for some anomalous diffusion equations. By using the theory of integral equations with completely positive kernel together with local estimates, some existence, regularity and stability results are established. An application to nonlocal partial differential equations is shown to demonstrate our abstract results.

The paper considers a chemostat model describing an activated sludge process in wastewater treatment. The model is assumed to be subject to environment noise in terms of both white noise and color noise. The paper fully characterizes the asymptotic behavior of the model that is a hybrid switching diffusion. We show that the long-term properties of the system can be classified using a value $\lambda$. More precisely, if $\lambda\leq 0$, the bacteria in the sewage will die out, which means that the process does not operate. If $\lambda>0$, the system has an invariant probability measure to which the transition probability of the solution process converges exponentially fast. One of the distinctive contributions of this paper is that the critical case $\lambda=0$ is considered. The functional integration method is used for studying the scattering of a scalar pion on nucleon with the anomalous magnetic moment in the framework of nonrenomalizable quantum field theory. In the asymptotic region s {\to} {\infty}, |t| << s the representation of eikonal type for the amplitude of pion-nucleon scattering is obtained. The anomalous magnetic moment leads to additional terms in the amplitude which describe the spin flips in the scattering process. It is shown that the renormalization problem does not arise in the asymptotic s {\to} {\infty} since the unrenomalized divergences disappear in this approximation. In the framework of functional integration the non-leading terms to leading eikonal behavior of the Planckian-energy scattering amplitude are calculated by the straight-line path approximation. We show that the allowance for the first-order correction terms leads to the appearance of retardation effect. The singular character of the correction terms at short distances is also noted, and they may be lead ultimately to the appearance of non-eikonal contributions to the scattering amplitudes., Comment: 15 pages, no figures
