In this work, we introduce a foundational definition of statistical virtual temperature, derived from the spectrum of the Gibbs Kubo-Martin-Schwinger (KMS) state and formulated using d-1 indices of purity (IP), where d represents the Hilbert space dimension within the C*-algebra framework. We demonstrate that the universal physical bounds between von Neumann entropy and statistical virtual temperature are constrained by these IPs, which may offer broader applications to quantum systems. Additionally, we geometrize classical optical polarization states of an arbitrary electromagnetic field and provide an interpretation of the quantum Mpemba effect, where a quantum system prepared at a higher statistical virtual temperature relaxes to equilibrium faster than one at a lower temperature. This behavior is explained through a novel concept of temperature-resolved entanglement asymmetry. Additionally, we present a geometric interpretation of the third law of thermodynamics using these entropy-temperature diagrams. Nevertheless, the defined statistical virtual temperature inherently exhibits the third law of thermodynamics. We believe that this work has the potential to significantly advance our understanding of classical polarization theory, quantum information theory, and quantum thermodynamics, and it may establish new connections and insights into these fields.

In this study, we investigate the effectiveness of entropic uncertainty relations (EURs) in discerning the energy variation in quantum batteries (QBs) modelled by battery-charger-field in the presence of bosonic and fermionic reservoirs. Our results suggest that the extractable works (exergy and ergotropy) have versatile characteristics in different scenarios, resulting in a complex relationship between tightness and extractable work. It is worth noting that the tightness of the lower bound of entropic uncertainty can be a good indicator for energy conversion efficiency in charging QBs. Furthermore, we disclose how the EUR including uncertainty and lower bound contributes to energy conversion efficiency in the QB system. This paper investigates the mathematical properties of independent-electron models for twisted bilayer graphene by examining the density-of-states of corresponding single-particle Hamiltonians using tools from semiclassical analysis. This study focuses on a specific atomic-scale Hamiltonian $H_{d,\theta}$ constructed from Density-Functional Theory, and a family of moir\'e-scale Hamiltonians $H_{d,K,\theta}^{\rm eff}$ containing the Bistritzer-MacDonald model. The parameter $d$ represents the interlayer distance, and $\theta$ the twist angle. It is shown that the density-of-states of $H_{d,\theta}$ and $H_{d,K,\theta}^{\rm eff}$ admit asymptotic expansions in the twist angle parameter $\epsilon:=\sin(\theta/2)$. The proof relies on a twisted version of the Weyl calculus and a trace formula for an exotic class of pseudodifferential operators suitable for the study of twisted 2D materials. We also show that the density-of-states of $H_{d,\theta}$ admits an asymptotic expansion in $\eta:=\tan(\theta/2)$ and comment on the differences between the expansions in $\epsilon$ and $\eta$., Comment: 58 pages, 3 figures

Existence of minimizers for the Dirac--Fock model in crystals was recently proved by Paturel and S\'er\'e and the authors \cite{crystals} by a retraction technique due to S\'er\'e \cite{Ser09}. In this paper, inspired by Ghimenti and Lewin's result \cite{ghimenti2009properties} for the periodic Hartree--Fock model, we prove that the Fermi level of any periodic Dirac--Fock minimizer is either empty or totally filled when $\frac{\alpha}{c}\leq C_{\rm cri}$ and $\alpha>0$. Here $c$ is the speed of light, $\alpha$ is the fine structure constant, and $C_{\rm cri}$ is a constant only depending on the number of electrons and on the charge of nuclei per cell. More importantly, we provide an explicit upper bound for $C_{\rm cri}$. Our result implies that any minimizer of the periodic Dirac--Fock model is a projector when $\frac{\alpha}{c}\leq C_{\rm cri}$ and $\alpha>0$. In particular, the non-relativistic regime (i.e., $c\gg1$) and the weak coupling regime (i.e., $0<\alpha\ll1$) are covered. The proof is based on a delicate study of a second-order expansion of the periodic Dirac--Fock functional composed with the retraction used in \cite{crystals}.

In this paper we study Strichartz estimates for the half wave, the half Klein-Gordon and the Dirac Equations on compact manifolds without boundary, proving in particular for each of these flows local in time estimates both for the wave and Schroedinger admissible couples (in this latter case with an additional loss of regularity). In this paper, we study the relationship between the Dirac--Fock model and the electron-positron Hartree--Fock model. We justify the Dirac--Fock model as a variational approximation of QED when the vacuum polarization is neglected and when the fine structure constant $\alpha$ is small and the velocity of light $c$ is large. As a byproduct, we also prove, when $\alpha$ is small or $c$ is large, the no-unfilled shells theory in the Dirac--Fock theory for atoms and molecules. The proof is based on some new properties of the Dirac--Fock model.

Whereas many different models exist in the mathematical and physics literature for ground states of non-relativistic crystals, the relativistic case has been much less studied and we are not aware of any mathematical result on a fully relativistic treatment of crystals. In this paper, we introduce a mean-field relativistic energy for crystals in terms of periodic density matrices. This model is inspired both from a recent definition of the Dirac-Fock ground state for atoms and molecules, due to one of us, and from the non-relativistic Hartree-Fock model for crystals. We prove the existence of a ground state when the number of electrons per cell is not too large.

We studied the dynamics of entropic uncertainty in Markovian and non-Markovian systems during the charging of open quantum batteries (QBs) mediated by a common dissipation environment. In the non-Markovian regime, the battery is almost fully charged efficiently, and the strong non-Markovian property is beneficial for improving the charging power. In addition, the results show that the energy storage is closely related to the couplings of the charger-reservoir and battery-reservoir; that is, the stronger coupling of a charger-reservoir improves energy storage. In particular, entanglement is required to obtain the most stored energy and is accompanied by the least tight entropic bound. Interestingly, it was found that the tightness of the entropic bound can be considered a good indicator of the energy transfer in different charging processes, and the complete energy transfer always corresponds to the tightest entropic bound. In this paper we prove well posedness for a system coupling a nonlinear Dirac with a Klein-Gordon equation that represents a toy model for the Helium atom with relativistic corrections: the wave function of the electrons interacts with an electric field generated by a nucleus with a given charge density. Electrocardiography plays an essential role in diagnosing and screening cardiovascular diseases in daily healthcare. Deep neural networks have shown the potentials to improve the accuracies of arrhythmia detection based on electrocardiograms (ECGs). However, more ECG records with ground truth are needed to promote the development and progression of deep learning techniques in automatic ECG analysis. Here we propose a web-based tool for ECG viewing and annotating, LabelECG. With the facilitation of unified data management, LabelECG is able to distribute large cohorts of ECGs to dozens of technicians and physicians, who can simultaneously make annotations through web-browsers on PCs, tablets and cell phones. Along with the doctors from four hospitals in China, we applied LabelECG to support the annotations of about 15,000 12-lead resting ECG records in three months. These annotated ECGs have successfully supported the First China ECG intelligent Competition. La-belECG will be freely accessible on the Internet to support similar researches, and will also be upgraded through future works.

A decade ago, the mixed regularity of stationary many-body Schr\"o\-dinger equation has been studied by Harry Yserentant through the Pauli Principle and the Hardy inequality (Uncertainty Principle). In this article, we prove that the many-body evolution Schr\"odinger equation has a similar mixed regularity if the initial data $u_0$ satisfies the Pauli Principle. By generalization of the Strichartz estimates, our method also applies to the numerical approximation of this problem: based on these mixed derivatives, we design a new approximation which can hugely improve the computing capability especially in quantum chemistry.
