Abstract

The article suggests that an as-needed approach to the treatment of mild persistent asthma such as symptom-driven intermittent treatment with inhaled or oral corticosteroids, may be a practical option. This strategy is not only less expensive, but it could decrease the long-term adverse effects of steroid therapy.
