Biquandles and multiple conjugation biquandles are algebras which are related to links and handlebody-links in $3$-space. Cocycles of them can be used to construct state-sum type invariants of links and handlebody-links. In this paper we discuss cocycles of a certain class of biquandles and multiple conjugation biquandles, which we call $G$-Alexander biquandles and $G$-Alexander multiple conjugation biquandles, with a relationship with group cocycles. A spatial surface is a compact surface embedded in the 3-sphere. In this paper, we provide several typical examples of spatial surfaces and construct a coloring invariant to distinguish them. In this paper, we introduce the (co)homology group of a multiple conjugation biquandle. It is the (co)homology group of the prismatic chain complex, which is related to the homology of foams introduced by J. S. Carter, modulo a certain subchain complex. We construct invariants for $S^1$-oriented handlebody-links using $2$-cocycles. When a multiple conjugation biquandle $X\times\mathbb{Z}_{\operatorname{type}X_Y}$ is obtained from a biquandle $X$ using $n$-parallel operations, we provide a $2$-cocycle (or $3$-cocycle) of the multiple conjugation biquandle $X\times\mathbb{Z}_{\operatorname{type}X_Y}$ from a $2$-cocycle (or $3$-cocycle) of the biquandle $X$ equipped with an $X$-set $Y$., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1702.01363; text overlap with arXiv:1704.07792 by other authors

We introduce a multiple conjugation biquandle, and show that it is the universal algebra to define a semi-arc coloring invariant for handlebody-links. A multiple conjugation biquandle is a generalization of a multiple conjugation quandle. We extend the notion of $n$-parallel biquandle operations for any integer $n$, and show that any biquandle gives a multiple conjugation biquandle with them.

We introduce several algebraic structures related to handlebody-knots, including $G$-families of biquandles, partially multiplicative biquandles and group decomposable biquandles. These structures can be used to color the semiarcs in $Y$-oriented spatial trivalent graph diagrams representing $S^1$-oriented handlebody-knots to obtain computable invariants for handlebody-knots and handlebody-links. A quandle is a set that has a binary operation satisfying three conditions corresponding to the Reidemeister moves. Homology theories of quandles have been developed in a way similar to group homology, and have been applied to knots and knotted surfaces. In this paper, a homology theory is defined that unifies group and quandle homology theories. A quandle that is a union of groups with the operation restricting to conjugation on each group component is called a multiple conjugation quandle (MCQ, defined rigorously within). In this definition, compatibilities between the group and quandle operations are imposed which are motivated by considerations on colorings of handlebody-links. A homology theory defined here for MCQs take into consideration both group and quandle operations, as well as their compatibility. The first homology group is characterized, and the notion of extensions by $2$-cocycles is provided. Degenerate subcomplexes are defined in relation to simplicial decompositions of prismatic (products of simplices) complexes and group inverses. There are many studies about twisted Alexander invariants for knots and links, but calculations of twisted Alexander invariants for spatial graphs, handlebody-knots, and surface-links have not been demonstrated well. In this paper, we give some remarks to calculate the twisted Alexander ideals for spatial graphs, handlebody-knots and surface-links, and observe their behaviors. For spatial graphs, we calculate the invariants of Suzuki's theta-curves and show that the invariants are nontrivial for Suzuki's theta-curves whose Alexander ideals are trivial. For handlebody-knots, we give a remark on abelianizations and calculate the invariant of the handlebody-knots up to six crossings. For surface-links, we correct Yoshikawa's table and calculate the invariants of the surface-links in the table., Comment: 17 pages, 1 figure

A handlebody-knot is a handlebody embedded in the 3-sphere. We establish a uniform method to construct invariants for handlebody-links. We introduce the category $\mathcal{T}$ of handlebody-tangles and present it by generators and relations. The result tells us that every functor on $\mathcal{T}$ that gives rise to invariants is derived from what we call a quantum-commutative quantum-symmetric algebra in the target category. The example of such algebras of our main concern is finite-dimensional unimodular Hopf algebras. We investigate how those Hopf algebras give rise to handlebody-knot invariants., Comment: 25 Pages

We show that a handlebody-knot whose exterior is boundary-irreducible has a unique maximal unnested set of knotted handle decomposing spheres up to isotopies and annulus-moves. As an application, we show that the handlebody-knots $6_{14}$ and $6_{15}$ are not equivalent. We also show that some genus two handlebody-knots with a knotted handle decomposing sphere can be determined by their exteriors. As an application, we show that the exteriors of $6_{14}$ and $6_{15}$ are not homeomorphic.

We show that the Alexander-Conway polynomial Delta is obtainable via a particular one-variable reduction of each two-variable Links-Gould invariant LG^{m,1}, where m is a positive integer. Thus there exist infinitely many two-variable generalisations of Delta. This result is not obvious since in the reduction, the representation of the braid group generator used to define LG^{m,1} does not satisfy a second-order characteristic identity unless m=1.
