The article presents a study of the association between attitudes and intentions toward health risk behavior of incarcerated offenders shortly before and after release from prison. It extends the results of WaySafe, a disease-risk reduction curriculum aimed prisoners in the last phase of substance abuse treatment before their release back into the community. Results showed that positive attitude toward HIV risks prevention are sustainable after release from prison.
