In the last decade, EU became aware of its dependency on mining countries for mineral resources. In that context in 2022, France launched new airborne geophysical surveys in the Limousin region (northwestern French Massif Central) which is historically renown for its gold, uranium, tungsten and tin production. Thanks to these new data, it has become possible to both explore the Saint-Goussaud - Auriat zone, centered on the Puy-les-Vignes tungsten deposit and to investigate the numerous W occurrences. To do so, direct geophysical modelling using gravimetric, airborne magnetic and electromagnetic data has allowed to create a 3D regional model. It mainly illustrates locations where evolved granites deepen, possibly associated with hidden granitic cupolas. Besides, electromagnetic data have been analysed to highlight conductive anomalies. The lineament analysis has contributed to identify a conductive corridor, interpreted as a regional structure. Conductive vertical conduits, which are spatially close to mineralized occurrences and stream-sediment anomalies have also been spotted. This new method has thus allowed generating new elements which could be combined and could have implications for granite-related tungsten exploration in this region.

By means of tree-dimensional contact dynamics simulations, we analyze the vibrational dynamics of a confined granular layer in response to harmonic forcing. The sample is composed of polyedric grains with a shape derived from digitalized ballast. The system involves a jammed state separating passive (loading) and active (unloading) states. We show that an approximate expression of the packing resistance force as a function of the displacement of the free retaining wall from the jamming position provides a good description of the dynamics. We study in detail the scaling of displacements and velocities with loading parameters. In particular, we find that, for a wide range of frequencies, the data collapse by scaling the displacements with the inverse square of frequency, the inverse of the force amplitude and the square of gravity. We show that the mean compaction rate increases linearly with frequency up to a characteristic frequency of 10 Hz and then it declines in inverse proportion to frequency., Comment: IX Congreso de Geotecnia, Sociedad Colombiana de geotecnia, Bogot\`a : Colombie (2008)

A new computer haptics algorithm to be used in general interactive manipulations of deformable virtual objects is presented. In multimodal interactive simulations, haptic feedback computation often comes from contact forces. Subsequently, the fidelity of haptic rendering depends significantly on contact space modeling. Contact and friction laws between deformable models are often simplified in up to date methods. They do not allow a "realistic" rendering of the subtleties of contact space physical phenomena (such as slip and stick effects due to friction or mechanical coupling between contacts). In this paper, we use Signorini's contact law and Coulomb's friction law as a computer haptics basis. Real-time performance is made possible thanks to a linearization of the behavior in the contact space, formulated as the so-called Delassus operator, and iteratively solved by a Gauss-Seidel type algorithm. Dynamic deformation uses corotational global formulation to obtain the Delassus operator in which the mass and stiffness ratio are dissociated from the simulation time step. This last point is crucial to keep stable haptic feedback. This global approach has been packaged, implemented, and tested. Stable and realistic 6D haptic feedback is demonstrated through a clipping task experiment.

The characteristic frequency is interpreted in terms of the time required for the relaxation of the packing through collective grain rearrangements between two equilibrium states.

The rheology of 2D steady surface flow of cohesionless cylinders in a rotating drum is investigated through {\em Non Smooth Contact Dynamics} simulations. Profile of volume fraction, translational and angular velocity, rms velocity, strain rate and stress tensor were measured at the midpoint along the length of the surface flowing layer where the flow is generally considered as steady and homogeneous. Analysis of these data and their inter-relations suggest the local inertial number - defined as the ratio between local inertial forces and local confinement forces - to be the relevant dimensionless parameter to describe the transition from the quasi-static part of the packing to the flowing part at the surface of the heap. Variations of the components of the stress tensor as well as the ones of rms velocity as a function of the inertial number are analysed within both the quasi-static and the flowing phases.
