The origin of the high-energy astrophysical neutrinos discovered by IceCube remains unclear, with both blazars and Seyfert galaxies emerging as potential sources. Recently, the IceCube Collaboration reported a ${\sim}{3}\sigma$ neutrino signal from the direction of a nearby Seyfert galaxy NGC 4151. However, two gamma-ray loud BL Lac objects, 4FGL 1210.3+3928 and 4FGL J1211.6+3901, lie close to NGC 4151, at angular distances of 0.08$^\circ$ and 0.43$^\circ$, respectively. We investigate the potential contribution of these two blazars to the observed neutrino signal from the direction of NGC 4151 and assess their detectability with future neutrino observatories. We model the multi-wavelength spectral energy distributions of both blazars using a self-consistent numerical radiation code, AM$^3$. We calculate their neutrino spectra and compare them to the measured NGC 4151 neutrino spectrum and future neutrino detector sensitivities. Our models predict neutrino emission peaking at $\sim$10$^{17}$ eV for both blazars, with fluxes of ${\sim}10^{-12}~\mathrm{erg~cm^{-2}~s^{-1}}$. This indicates their contribution to the $\sim$10 TeV neutrino signal observed from the direction of NGC 4151 is minor. While detection with current facilities is challenging, both sources should be detectable by future radio-based neutrino telescopes such as IceCube-Gen2's radio array and GRAND, with 4FGL~J1210.3+3928 being the more promising candidate., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures. We present the first X-ray spectropolarimetric results for Cygnus X-1 in its soft state from a campaign of five IXPE observations conducted during 2023 May-June. Companion multiwavelength data during the campaign are likewise shown. The 2-8 keV X-rays exhibit a net polarization degree PD=1.99%+/-0.13% (68% confidence). The polarization signal is found to increase with energy across IXPE's 2-8 keV bandpass. The polarized X-rays exhibit an energy-independent polarization angle of PA=-25.7+/-1.8 deg. East of North (68% confidence). This is consistent with being aligned to Cyg X-1's AU-scale compact radio jet and its pc-scale radio lobes. In comparison to earlier hard-state observations, the soft state exhibits a factor of 2 lower polarization degree, but a similar trend with energy and a similar (also energy-independent) position angle. When scaling by the natural unit of the disk temperature, we find the appearance of a consistent trendline in the polarization degree between soft and hard states. Our favored polarimetric model indicates Cyg X-1's spin is likely high (a* above ~0.96). The substantial X-ray polarization in Cyg X-1's soft state is most readily explained as resulting from a large portion of X-rays emitted from the disk returning and reflecting off the disk surface, generating a high polarization degree and a polarization direction parallel to the black hole spin axis and radio jet. In IXPE's bandpass, the polarization signal is dominated by the returning reflection emission. Large scale, strong magnetic fields are often evoked in black hole accretion flows, for jet launching in the low/hard state and to circumvent the thermal instability in the high/soft state. Here we show how these ideas are strongly challenged by X-ray polarization measurements from IXPE. Quite general arguments show that equipartition large scale fields in the accretion flow should be of order $10^{6-8}$~G. These produce substantial Faraday rotation and/or depolarization. Since IXPE observes polarisation in both spectral states, this sets upper limits to coherent large scale (vertical, radial or azimulthal) magnetic fields in the photosphere of $B\lesssim 5\times10^6$~G. While we stress that Faraday rotation should be calculated for each individual simulation (density, field geometry and emissivity), it seems most likely that there are no equipartition strength large scale ordered fields inside the photosphere of the X-ray emitting gas. Strong poloidal fields can still power a Blandford-Znajek jet in the low/hard state if they thread the black hole horizon rather than the X-ray emitting flow, but this could also be challenged by (lack of) depolarisation from vacuum birefringence. Instead, an alternative solution is that the low/hard state jet is dominated by pairs so can be accelerated by lower fields. Strong toroidal fields could still stabilise the disc in the high/soft state if they are buried beneath the photosphere, though this seems unlikely due to magnetic buoyancy. The non linear correlation between the UV and X-ray emission observed in Active Galactic Nuclei remains a puzzling question that challenged accretion models. While the UV emission originates from the cold disk, the X-ray emission is emitted by a hot corona whose physical characteristics and geometry are still highly debated. The Jet Emitting Disk - Standard Accretion Disk (JED-SAD) is a spectral model stemming from self similar accretion-ejection solutions. It is composed of an inner highly magnetized and hot accretion flow launching jets, the JED, and an outer SAD. The model has been successfully applied to X-ray binaries outbursts. The AGN UV X-ray correlation represent another essential test for the JED-SAD model. We use multiple AGN samples to explore the parameter space and identify the regions able to reproduce the observations.
