Abstract

The article discusses the role of offsets in a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction program in the U.S., particularly the cap-and-trade program. Topics discussed include biological sequestration projects, nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A graph which shows the estimated supply of offsets from agriculture and forestry sectors of the country at different carbon prices in 2015 is presented.
