Information about several papers discussed at the "The Third Pole in Danger- China's Environmental Policy in Tibet" conference which tackles on the environmental destruction happening in Tibet is presented.

Abstract
The article discusses the highlights of the symposiums "The Art and Cultural History of Central and Western Tibet, 8th to 15th Century" and "Cultural Heritage Preservation." Xiong Wenbin presented the results of his research together with Shargan Wangdue about the wall paintings of the Assembly Hall of the Gongkar Chode monastery. Zhang Yun talked about Yangtong/Zhangzhung's geographical definition and its relationship to the Tibetan kingdom. Karel Kriz of the University of Vienna focused on online interactive cartographic information systems.
