Abstract

The article reports that the Chinese readers of the modern era read Old Testament (OT) as an historical and literary document of the ancient Israelites, which is similar to their reading of early Chinese narrative as a historical document. It states that early Chinese historiography is similar among ancient historiographies to the Hebrew Deuteronomistic historiography. It mentions that the biblical and Chinese texts are observed in translated form.
