The article reports on the reliance on regulated competition for the puchase of health insurance in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland based on the U.S. congressional briefing amid the debate over U.S. healthcare reform. It adds that both public and private sectors in each of the European countries can be involved as providers and payers control the process. Robin Osborn of the Commonwealth Foundation said that no country is the best or the worst on others.
