The article reports on a study published in the journal "Environmental Geochemistry and Health,"conducted by Lynda Williams and colleagues that reveals the potential of clays with antibacterial properties found near Crater Lake in Oregon as new agents in the fight against antibiotic-resistant superbugs. The study shows the effectivity of the clays against other strains of bacteria including beta-lactamase-resistant Escherichia coli and the potential of the clays in the pharmaceutical industry.
