The article discusses the delivery of expertise, data, and model development to African countries to achieve electrification, development and climate goals on the continent in 2023. It states that appropriate energy system models are needed for planning on future energy demand and supply trajectories to advance socioeconomic development amid global decarbonization. Also noted are possible investment-outcome and resource-demand mismatches if there are deficiencies in modeling and data.
