Abstract

The article focuses on a randomized trial indicating that laser epilation (LE) as an adjunct to standard care significantly reduces the recurrence of pilonidal disease compared to standard care alone. The study enrolled 302 patients aged 11-21, with results showing a lower recurrence rate in the LE group; and supporting the safety and potential effectiveness of laser hair removal as an initial or supplementary treatment for pilonidal disease.
