Broadband wireless Internet access is starting to take hold at airport lounges and Internet cafes as the technology becomes more user friendly. The market is currently not dominated by any major player, but is led by MobileStar and Boingo Wireless. The implications of growth in the wireless Internet market are negative for the telecom and ISP industry which counts on customers needing access to wires to get onto the Internet.

Microsoft Corp. has a privacy monitor built into its Internet Explorer 6 to help insure consumer privacy on the Web. The Platform for Privacy Preferences or P3P is designed to screen Web sites according to each site's individual privacy policy and can prevent the computer from sending these sites private information about the consumer.

Las Vegas casinos already feature gambling-for-fun on their Web sites. Bellagio's Web site offers games designed by WagerWorks. Off-shore casinos, too, feature online play-for-fun games. Casinos will next have to persuade regulators that they can verify the name and age of customers, in order to keep kids from gambling.
