- Abstract
YOU'D struggle to find a Norwich supporter who dislikes Daniel Farke and if I was a Leeds fan, I'd be excited at the prospect of seeing some entertaining football at Elland Road. Especially after seeing the club try and fail to go back to basics with Sam Allardyce, a doomed enterprise which ended in players hopelessly launching long throws into the box in a bid to survive. Sure, Farke got Norwich relegated once from the Premier League. But he also got them promoted twice from the Championship and it was all done in style, winning 71 of his 138 games in that division. His football is front-foot. It's about flying forward, not looking sideways or backwards. Norwich's 4-2-3-1 set-up saw them swarm all over their Championship opponents. Just ask Huddersfield, who lost 7-0 when they visited Carrow Road. Teemu Pukki scored three and assisted one that day, and Emi Buendia assisted three and scored one. They were both Farke signings and linked up brilliantly together as Norwich returned to the top flight. Leeds fans want to see their team take the game to the opposition and this is a manager who wants that too. Farke's potential arrival is all the more intriguing given how Stuart Webber, Norwich's former sporting director, is being linked with Leeds. Farke and Webber know the Championship. They know what it takes to get out of there. Leeds are a big club. Too big to be spending too long outside of the Premier League. They have taken their time in trying to find the perfect successor to Allardyce. In Farke, they might have found their man. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
