Jaguar Cars was privatized in 1984, following a decade of financial and labor problems. Almost all conditions have improved since then, including nearly tripled productivity compensation rates. For laborers, staff, and management there is an annual bonus system, based on company profits and meeting objectives. Employees also participate in two different profit-sharing plans. One of the big challenges now is to reduce the difference in working conditions between hourly factory workers and staff workers.
