The article narrates the author's experience in knowing the international academic boycott in Durban, South Africa. When he reached the place the members confronted him of the Black Students' Society which is an affiliate of the South African National Students' Congress and made lectures on the issue over anti-apartheid. At the meeting, he found out that the boycott was selective and not absolute. He mentions that he had learned how to speak under censorship and surveillance.
