The Ukrainian presidential decree for subordination of Crimea drew protests from the province as it threatened their democracy and human rights. The Supreme Soviet's call for help from the world community and its ex-president Yuri Meshkov evoked little response. Due to financial, political, and legal problems, Crimea's future depends on the developements in Kiev and Moscow. It is expected that Crimea will legalize the fundamental laws and rights. Vacationers at Crimea have dwindled drastically due to indifference of politicians and health hazards.
