The article looks at the government of Ethiopia which received $10 million from the World Bank to support and manage its forests as of July 2014. Also discussed are development of sustainable landscape in the country, development of an investment operation in Oromia Regional State, and reduction of deforestation.

Information about the topics discussed during an international wood industry forum which was held in Brazzaville, Congo on October 21-22, 2013 is presented. The event was participated by representatives of six timber-producing African countries and civil organizations. The participants agreed to a committed collaboration in implementing measures to enhance timber tracking, transparency, and forest governance.
