Atlas comprised of 53 maps (plus 31 ancillary maps throughout) and 261 views on 131 plates. The atlas shows the locations of oil and coal fields within Western Pennsylvania and represents the townships and towns of Washington County with views of various businesses, farms, and residences. Maps show township boundaries, towns, railways, roads, property ownership, drainage and riverbanks, while the views provide pictorial details such as the landscape, architecture, horse-drawn carriages, boats, farm animals, and people. Maps are hand-colored engravings; views are black and white lithographs. All printed by Otto Krebs in Pittsburgh.
