ISO15489, which is the world's first International Standard for records management, was established in September 2001. As the international best practice for records management, this ISO is considered to be the guideline for records management in both of public and private organizations, and has a characteristic based on Accountability. ISO 15489 is translated into Japanese and issued as JIS X 0902 this time around. It is expected to be utilized for the execution of "Records Management for Accountability" in "Paradigm Shift in Records Management" which was named by the author, as the direction for utilization of ISO15489 in Japan.
