Gabriele d’Annunzio is one of the few Italian writers who has created an ‘-ism’, the “Dannunzianesimo”: a set of attitudes, a style and a way of living life. He was born in Pescara in 1863 and he immediately emerged for his unscrupulous communication skills, his talent and for fully embodying the Imaginative: poet and soldier, lover and hero. In addition to his relevance in the literary field, d’Annunzio is also very present in the political life, drafting the “Carta del Carnaro” for the city of Fiume. To tie culture, reality and existence in school is not only "possible" but rather necessary. It is necessary for the cultural education of new generations to be "complete". Complete in the sense of an education that, through culture, on the one hand cultivates the cognitive competence necessary to understand reality as it is, and on the other hand, cultivates the competence of interpretation necessary to intervene in reality transforming it into an existence of human quality. It is precisely this same bond that enables the awakening and exercising of the highest and noblest human faculty: the faculty of judgment. Objective. To describe the relation between corruption indicators and statistics on noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors by continent. Methods. An ecological study was conducted to examine the relation of the GINI coefficient, the Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA), and the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) with noncommunicable diseases, using the Spearman's rank correlation test. Results. There is a moderate and positive correlation between Corruption Perception Index and cause of death due to noncommunicable diseases and risk factors for these diseases (r = 0.532), prevalence of schizophrenia (r = 0.526), bipolar disorder (r = 0.520), and eating disorders (r = 0.677). There is a moderate negative association between the GINI index and cause of death due to noncommunicable diseases (r = -0.571) and smoking prevalence (r = -0.502), and between the Corruption Perception Index and mortality caused by cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, or chronic respiratory diseases between the exact ages of 30 and 70 years (r = -0.577) and malnutrition prevalence (r = -0.602). Conclusions. This study indicates a correlation between corruption and noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors. This suggests that the high prevalence of noncommunicable diseases and risk factors could be related with political practices that negatively impact the population. Tuberculosis (TB) remains disproportionately concentrated among the poor, yet known determinants of TB reactivation may fail to explain observed disparities in disease rates according to wealth. Reviewing data on TB disparities in India and the wealth distribution of known TB risk factors, we describe how social mixing patterns could be contributing to TB disparities. Wealth-assortative mixing, whereby individuals are more likely to be in contact with others from similar socio-economic backgrounds, amplifies smaller differences in risk of TB, resulting in large population-level disparities. As disparities and assortativeness increase, TB becomes more difficult to control, an effect that is obscured by looking at population averages of epidemiological parameters, such as case detection rates. We illustrate how TB control efforts may benefit from preferential targeting toward the poor. In India, an equivalent-scale intervention could have a substantially greater impact if targeted at those living below the poverty line than with a population-wide strategy. In addition to potential efficiencies in targeting higher-risk populations, TB control efforts would lead to a greater reduction in secondary TB cases per primary case diagnosed if they were preferentially targeted at the poor. This paper will offer a history of the reception of Friedrich Nietzsche's thought from the fact of his perverse use by National Socialism. Firstly, the process of politization, germanization and nazification of his thought will be analysed, showing how this was facilitated through the mutilation of Nietzsche's work done by his sister. Secondly, the various strategies implemented from the 30s to depoliticize and denazificate his thought and work will be described. This article provides a criticism for the works of Chilean poet Nicanor Parra. The author comments on the literary movement known as anti-poetry developed by Parra and analyzes several of his works, including "Canciones rusas," "Poemas y antipoemas," and "Coplas de Navidad," all of which are categorized within the anti-poetry movement.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the correlation between the social determinants of oral health (SDOH) index and social indicators, indicators of oral health, and intermediary social determinants expressed by the indicators of the Government of Brazil's National Oral Health Policy. METHODS: This ecological study included 5 915 adults aged 35 to 44 years from 27 Brazilian capitals. Indicators of oral health outcomes-tooth loss, restored teeth, and dental care index (DCI)-were extracted from the 2010 National Oral Health Survey. Social indicators (structural social determinants) and indicators of the National Oral Health Policy were obtained from census data and from the Ministry of Health. RESULTS: A moderate Pearson correlation (r) was observed between SDOH and DCI (r = 0.580), restored teeth (r = 0.545), and tooth loss (r = - 0.490). The social equity component was strongly correlated to DCI (r = 0.856), restored teeth (r = 0.822), and tooth loss (r = - 0.665). These oral health outcomes were not statistically associated with the components related to primary and secondary oral health care. The social equity component explained 44% of the variance in tooth loss, 68% of the variance in the number of restored teeth, and 73% of the variance in DCI. CONCLUSIONS: A significant correlation was observed between SDOH and the social equity component with oral health outcomes in adults in Brazilian capitals. Therefore, equity policies should prioritize actions focused on the SDOH, such as increased sanitation coverage and water fluoridation, and on reducing poverty and regional inequities. The article discusses the university system in Argentina in the period from 1890 to 1912, with a focus on the training of leadership elites and the curricula of law schools during this time. This article explores the influence of the militia and the governor of Argentina in the formation of the state of Tucumán during the first half of the 19th century. It examines the relationship between the military, local militia, and federal government in the building of the province. The author also studies the role of Juan Manuel de Rosas, governor of the Argentine Confederation, also known as the Confederación Rosista, during the first half of the 19th century.
