Increase in computer performance in recent years enables us to obtain a variety of valuable knowledge from original data without structurizing text data. Text-mining is expected to play an important role in knowledge acquisition more and more in future. For instance, it will be useful for the management of technology (MOT) including decision making for "selection and concentration" strategy. However, the technique of text-mining for discovering knowledge, with the reliability which is necessary for decision making, has not yet fully been established. Statistical analysis is insufficient for acquiring knowledge trusted by managers. Therefore, in this article, authors verify whether human-computer collaboration, in which human-embodied knowledge is utilized for text mining, can be useful for MOT. To do so, taking an example of quantum dot solar cell, authors argue that "word sets" , in which words are selected carefully and are put together through human-computer collaboration, are useful for discovering knowledge meaningful for decision-making by companies who deal with huge amounts of text data. Graduate School of Engineering Management, Shibaura Institute of Technology(SIT) is the first MOT(Management of Technology) program under the new Professional Graduate School System in Japan. We will award master's degree of Management of Technology (professional degree) to more than 40 students of course completion in coming March at the first time. Our school continues to challenge the evolution on MOT anct/or MOT education in Japan supported by advanced superiority of experiences and knowledge as top runner. Our project titled "the Development of Seminar Teaching Materials on the Fusion Model between Practice and Theory of MOT Program" was selected to one of the FY 2004 Formation Assistance for Graduate Law Schools and Other Professional Graduate Schools by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The I-Support's MOT School aims to provide MOT education that is on par with MOT education in the United States and Europe by incorporating the strong points of the U.S. and European business schools into its courses designed to suit the needs of Japanese companies. It provides for a systematic education program with 80 sessions (200 hours). Lectures provide both theoretical analysis and case studies discussions. In addition to their teaching skills, the lecturers are experts who have theoretical capability to assess MOT from the perspective of science and current methodologies. The school has a full-time director who supervises the coordination of the curriculum and the planning, management, and direction of the MOT program. The curriculum is structured to foster personnel who benefit from technology. Many practical courses are offered so as to meet the needs of companies.
