Efficient milking requires a complete, fast, and tender harvest of milk at a high quality level and at a minimum impact of stress for the cow and udder tissue. The achievement of these goals allows high quality milk production at a reasonable workload in conventional systems and at a maximum number of animals per milking unit in automatic milking systems.
