Soft tissue sarcoma (STS) is a highly malignant tumor with limited targeted therapies. A novel anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) transcript, ALKATI, was identified recently and could be targeted by ALK inhibitors in melanoma. However, the clinical and functional role of aberrant ALKATIexpression in STS remains unknown. Here we demonstrate that as a new ALKtranscript, ALKATIis frequently found in STS. ALKATIexpression correlates with a lower probability of progression-free survival in STS patients. Compared with the other ALKisoforms, ALKATIexpresses not only in the cytoplasm, but also in the nucleus of sarcoma cells. Functionally, overexpression of ALKATIpromoted cancer stem cell (CSC)-like properties in sarcoma cells by promoting sphere formation and upregulating the expression of stem cell markers. Moreover, the ALK inhibitors not only suppressed the oncogenic functions of ALKATIbut also attenuated ALKATI-induced CSC-like properties by reducing the expression of stem cell markers such as c-Myc, ABCG2, BMI1, and OCT4 both in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, ALKATIinteracted with c-Myc and increased the binding of c-Myc to the ABCG2promoter, resulting in the induction of stem cell-like properties. Together, these findings indicate that ALKATImay be a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target for STS patients harboring such ALKaberrations.

Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) are among the most ubiquitous and abundant archaea on Earth, widely distributed in marine, terrestrial, and geothermal ecosystems. However, the genomic diversity, biogeography, and evolutionary process of AOA populations in subsurface environments are vastly understudied compared to those in marine and soil systems. Here, we report a novel AOA order Candidatus(Ca.) Nitrosomirales which forms a sister lineage to the thermophilic Ca.Nitrosocaldales. Metagenomic and 16S rRNA gene-read mapping demonstrates the abundant presence of NitrosomiralesAOA in various groundwater environments and their widespread distribution across a range of geothermal, terrestrial, and marine habitats. Terrestrial NitrosomiralesAOA show the genetic capacity of using formate as a source of reductant and using nitrate as an alternative electron acceptor. NitrosomiralesAOA appear to have acquired key metabolic genes and operons from other mesophilic populations via horizontal gene transfer, including genes encoding urease, nitrite reductase, and V-type ATPase. The additional metabolic versatility conferred by acquired functions may have facilitated their radiation into a variety of subsurface, marine, and soil environments. We also provide evidence that each of the four AOA orders spans both marine and terrestrial habitats, which suggests a more complex evolutionary history for major AOA lineages than previously proposed. Together, these findings establish a robust phylogenomic framework of AOA and provide new insights into the ecology and adaptation of this globally abundant functional guild.

Distributed Generation (DG) can be used to improve power quality, power supply reliability and reduce network loss et. Meanwhile Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) is easy to fall into the local minimum. In this paper we propose a Cloud Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (CAPSO) to optimize the site and size of DG based on cloud model which has a tendency and randomness property. Judged by two dynamic value assessment, particle belongs to which group, excellent, general and poor. The inertia weight in general group is adaptively varied depending on X-conditional cloud generation. Taking the minimum network loss as the objective function, simulation on the IEEE 33BUS distribution systems to validate the methodology. Analysis and simulations indicate that it has good convergence speed and exactness.

AbstractSalmonellaspp. pose a threat to both human and animal health, with more than 2600 serovars having been reported to date. Salmonellaserovars are usually identified by slide agglutination tests, which are labor intensive and time consuming. In an attempt to develop a more rapid screening method for the major poultry Salmonellaserovars, we developed a loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay, which directly detected the sefAgene, a fimbrial operon gene existing in several specific serovars of Salmonella entericaincluding the major poultry serovars, namely Salmonella entericaserovar Enteritidis (SalmonellaEnteritidis) and Salmonella entericaserovar Gallinarum (SalmonellaGallinarum). With the 177 bacterial strains we tested, positive reactions were only observed with 85 strains of serovar SalmonellaEnteritidis and SalmonellaGallinarum. The detection limit of the LAMP assay was 4 CFU/reaction with genomic DNAs of SalmonellaEnteritidis (ATCC 13076) from pure culture and 400 CFU/ reaction with DNA extracted from spiked chicken feces. The LAMP assay was more sensitive than conventional culture, especially without enrichment, in detecting SalmonellaEnteritidis (CMCC 50041) in the spiked fecal samples. The results show the sefALAMP method is a rapid, sensitive, specific, and practical method for directly detection of SalmonellaEnteritidis and SalmonellaGallinarum in chickens. The sefALAMP assay can potentially serve as new on-site diagnostics in the poultry industry.

ABSTRACTHighly drug-resistant Salmonella entericaserovar Indiana became the most common serovar in broilers with diarrhea in China over the course of this study (15% in 2010 to 70% in 2014). While most S. Indiana isolates (87%, 384/440) were resistant to 13 to 16 of the 16 antibiotics tested, 89% of non-S. Indiana isolates (528/595) were resistant to 0 to 6 antibiotics. Class 1 integrons and IncHI2-type plasmids were detected in all S. Indiana isolates, but only in 39% and 1% of non-S. Indiana isolates.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a significant global health problem, contributing to significant morbidity and mortality. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is an efficient therapy for treating CAD, but it carries the risk of iatrogenic endothelial injury, which contributes to vessel inflammation and induction of in-stent restenosis. Therefore, developing novel methods for enhancing re-endothelialization after PCI is highly needed. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) can differentiate into mature endothelial cells, and cell therapy with EPC may offer a novel way for accelerating reendothelialization. In this review paper, we aimed to briefly describe EPCs and highlight their potential therapeutic roles in in-stent re-stenosis and endothelial injury.

Soap-free Cationic polystyrene microspheres were prepared by emulsion polymerization using a water soluble monomer Methacrylatoethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (MADAC). Experimental studies were performed in detail to check the effect of the synthesis process of the microspheres, the MADAC dosage, and initiator dosage on the particle size and distribution. The chemical structure of latex particles was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The micro-morphology of latex particles were observed by Transmission electron microscope. The results show that different particle sizes of polystyrene microspheres with good monodispersity were finally obtained by seeded semi-continuous emulsion polymerization.

For the purpose of grid peak load shifting, chilled water storage has been paid more and more attentions to integrated with air-conditioning system.  In this paper, a new air conditioning system with directly chilled water storage is given.  With peak-valley Price, cost for power consumption can be saved 15%-20% by coordinated operation between chilled water storage system and air conditioning system.  By sensitivity analysis of system economic performance on ratio of peak price to valley price, it is revealed that with much higher ratio of peak price to valley price, not only system economic performance can seldom be improved, but also chilled water storage is restricted for engineering utilization. This paper supplies theory reference for engineering application of chilled water storage technology.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag is one of the Automatic Identification technology, its application has been involved in all aspects of daily life. A new micro manufacturing technology called Aerosol Jet® printing is described to fabricate the RFID tag in this paper. The fabrication method of Aerosol Jet printing RFID tag is that print the line using sliver ink as the seed first, and then electroplate copper to increase the line width and thickness to reduce the resistance, thus it would get the higher quality factor Q. The width of seed lines printed is 60 μm with the tip of 250 μm in diameter. The inductance value of RFID tag printed is in the range of 2.87 μH to 2.97 μH, it meets the required value of 2 μH to 6 μH.

Server operating system of the integrated supervisory control system (ISCS) in urban rail transport is very important, this article analyzed and compared the main server OS Unix, Linux and Windows server from security, reliability, ease of use and cost. Finally using the Shenzhen Metro 3rd Line as an example, summed up that current the server operating system of the ISCS system will continue to Unix and Windows Server-based, and gradually transitioned to Windows Server.

Load imbalance of power grid leads to more peak-load power station built with huge capital cost and some environment effects. As a peak shifting technology, thermal storage technology has attracted more attentions. A new operating mode of chilled storage process integrated with air-conditioning system is proposed, and its performance is analyzed. The results show that the new operating mode can get more than 5% of power saving than the traditional mode, and achieve more than 40% power cost saving based on air-conditioning without chilled storage, both of which result from the good integration of chilled storage process with air-conditioning system. The new operating mode gives the new direction of thermal storage technology application.

This paper introduces a 3D imaging system designed for objective evaluation of fabric pilling. The system was aimed at using a pair of regular digital cameras to capture two side-by-side images of a pilling fabric without special lighting, and the robust calibration and stereo-matching algorithms to reconstruct high-fidelity 3D surfaces of fabric. The depth data provides the most relevant information for pilling segmentation and measurements. The outcome of the surface reconstruction is independent of fabric structures, colors and fiber contents. 3D measurements are useful for understanding pilling mechanisms in different abrasive treatments.

In this paper, the structure and characteristic of CANopen protocol is analyzed, and the implementation in a Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Generation Station (WEHGS) is described in detail, which includes the hardware interface design of CAN controller based on the ARM7 of LPC2292, and the software implementation. Finally, the practice proved that used CANopen in WEHGS is a good way with real time action, more reliability and low cost.

This paper considers the mean square consensus problems for second order multi-agent systems with fixed topologies and measurement noises. Two cases were analyzed: 1) undirected networks with fixed topologies; 2) undirected networks with fixed topologies and measurement noises. In order to attenuate the measurement noises, a time-varying consensus gain was introduced in the consensus protocol. Sufficient conditions were derived for all agents to reach consensus in mean square via algebraic graph theory, matrix theory and stochastic analysis approach, by constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function. A numerical example was given to verify our theoretical analysis.

In power plants and other complex industrial application fields, incomprehensive design can make the system less durable. The fault of the fieldbus, in principle, comes from the physical layer, whose lay-out directly affects the fieldbus’s reliability. This article discusses from four aspects on how to improve the reliability of the physical layer of CAN bus, which include the selection of cables and connectors, the length of the bus and branch lines, the matching method of terminal resistor, and the interface circuit of hardware. Furthermore, the article presents the plan of using H-bridge type matching terminal, which aims at solving signal-reflection problems. Finally, the theory is verified through the application of intelligent electric actuator with the CAN bus.

For the development trends and defects of the Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Generation Station (WEHGS), the design of CAN bus distributed network control system based on CANopen protocol is presented. CANopen master characteristics have been analyzed, then the communication implementation of CANopen monitor msater protocol stack, which includes the hardware interface and software design of CAN controller based on the LPC2292, is described. The tested results show that CANopen monitor master meets the requirements of WEHGS.

When the test-bed tests semi-automatic coupler draft gear of the metro vehicle in the case of maximum lateral swinging angle, it requires a hydraulic motor to move the adjustable bearing base which is linked with coupler draft gear in a certain distance until it achieves the desired Angle. In this article, we adopt the valve-control motor electro-hydraulic position servo control system, in which it has the angular measuring device. Besides we optimize the effection of control system by using the fuzzy strategy. Through the AMEsim/Simulink co-simulation and analysis, the level swinging angle of coupler draft gear shows accurate, reliable and stable, which reaches the expected effection completely. With the more and more complex of the controlled object, this kind of intelligent control strategy gives an effective solution for solving complex problems.

Sulfide-modified nanoscale zero-valent iron (S-nZVI) is a commonly used reductive agent in pollutant removal. However, the aggregation of S-nZVI can lower its reduction capacity in the water, and its regeneration remains challenging. To overcome these limitations, one-pot fast pyrolysis of FeSO4-loaded lignocellulosic biomass was proposed to obtain highly stable biochar-supported S-nZVI (S-nZVI/BC) nanoparticles. During this process, Fe2+were reduced and sulfuretted in situ to form S-nZVI and subsequently covered by the freshly formed carbon film. A series of S-nZVI/BCs pyrolyzed at different temperatures (500-1000°C) were prepared, among which S-nZVI/BC pyrolyzed at 800oC (S-nZVI/BC-800) exhibited a fast and stable removal of diclofenac (DCF) via adsorption and reduction. The DCF removal efficiency of S-nZVI/BC-800 reached 80.1% within 4h, with a particle dosage of 0.5g/L and Fe dosage of 1mmol/g. The adsorption and reduction efficiencies of DCF by S-nZVI/BC-800 were 43.2% and 36.9%, respectively. The improved reactivity of S-nZVI/BC-800 can be attributed to the formation of iron sulfides (i.e., FeS and Fe1−xS) in ZVI particles, which increased the electrical conductivity and improved the material selectivity for the reduction of DCF in the water. S-nZVI/BC-800 could be easily regenerated through pyrolysis, during which the carbon film could act as the electron donor. This study provides a facile and skillful method to prepare a highly stable and refreshable S-nZVI, which could be a promising permeable reactive bed material for the remediation of halogenated organic pollutants in contaminated water.
