This paper seeks to determine the effect of combination anti-PD-1 and antiretroviral therapy (ART) on people living with HIV (PLWH) with advanced gastric cancer. In our case, a PLWH with recurrent locally advanced gastric cancer was treated with anti-PD-1 inhibitor and ART. A significant reduction in tumor lesions (as demonstrated by contrast-enhanced CT imaging) and a better quality of life were achieved following treatment. There have been limited studies on the treatment of PLWH with advanced gastric cancer. Chemotherapy is most often used, however, with unsatisfactory outcomes. to date, there have been no published reports on the use of PD-1 inhibitors in PLWH with advanced gastric cancer. Our report provides a valuable reference for future management of such patients.

This article studies the downlink performance of a cell-free massive multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) system with imperfect channel estimation and reciprocity calibration. We present the statistical characteristics of the calibration error with the Argos algorithm and a relay-based calibration algorithm to obtain the calibration parameters of the whole network. Then, we derive approximate expressions of the downlink spectral efficiency for a cell-free massive MIMO system with imperfect channel state information and calibration error. The numerical results show the advantage of the proposed calibration algorithm and validate the accuracy of the theoretical expressions.

Group B coxsackieviruses (CVBs) are the main cause of virus-induced myocarditis. CVBs use coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor (CAR) for infection and targeting CAR has been shown to ameliorate CVBs-induced myocarditis. Ligand-of-Numb protein X1 (LNX1) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that was shown to interact with CAR. However, the precise effect of LNX1 on CAR and the roles of LNX1 on CVBs-induced myocarditis remain unknown. In the present study, we generated mice deficient in LNX1 in the heart and evaluated the symptoms of myocarditis after CVB3 infection. We also monitored the expression and ubiquitination of CAR in LNX1-deficient cardiomyocytes after CVBs infection. We found that CVBs infection decreased CAR expression while promoted the expression of LNX1. Mice with deficiency of LNX1 in the heart had normal myocardial development while had deteriorated myocarditis symptoms after CVB3 infection. In LNX1-deficient cardiomyocytes, decreased ubiquitination of CAR and upregulation of CAR were observed after CVB3 infection. In summary, LNX1 controls CVB3-induced myocarditis by regulating the expression of CAR.

As an essential gasotransmitter, carbon monoxide (CO) had gradually become a research hotspot in that it possessed important physiological functions and unique pharmacological properties. However, to date, no report has focused on the topic of detecting CO both in vivo and using films. To open up a new field of CO probes, for the first time, we designed a probe (PMAH-CO) that showed a distinctive ratio emission characteristic and displayed the quantitative distribution of CO in HeLa cells and zebrafish with a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Meanwhile, the fluorescent polysiloxane-based film (PMF) containing PMAH-COexhibited an excellent response to CO. Due to the addition of the Si–O bond, the probe exhibited a broad transparency in the visible light range and had excellent photostability. Moreover, the probe was economically viable, easy to handle, and suitable for biological research. Hence, PMAH-COand PMFwould open up the road to broaden the application of silicone materials in the field of fluorescence imaging.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is considered as an important endogenous gaseous signaling molecule in biological systems. It plays a significant role in various intracellular activities. Therefore, it remains an urgent task to develop a new simple and efficient pathway for effective detection of H2S in biological systems. Here, a novel fluorescent probe (named H-LDS) was designed and constructed. H-LDSbased on naphthalimide derivatives and small molecule organosilicone localizes lipid droplets. H-LDSalso shows excellent selectivity and high sensitivity for H2S both in vivoand in vitro. The reaction mechanism of H-LDSis based on the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanism. H-LDShas been successfully applied to localize lipid droplets and detect exogenous H2S in HeLa cells. Our work clarifies the potential applications of small molecule organosilicone fluorescent probes in biological systems.

Purpose: Intelligence level of a crowd network is defined as the expected reward of the network when completing the latest tasks (e.g. last N tasks). The purpose of this paper is to improve the intelligence level of a crowd network by optimizing the profession distribution of the crowd network. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the concept of information entropy, this paper introduces the concept of business entropy and puts forward several factors affecting business entropy to analyze the relationship between the intelligence level and the profession distribution of the crowd network. This paper introduced Profession Distribution Deviation and Subject Interaction Pattern as the two factors which affect business entropy. By quantifying and combining the two factors, a Multi-Factor Business Entropy Quantitative (MFBEQ) model is proposed to calculate the business entropy of a crowd network. Finally, the differential evolution model and k-means clustering are applied to crowd intelligence network, and the species distribution of intelligent subjects is found, so as to achieve quantitative analysis of business entropy. Findings: By establishing the MFBEQ model, this paper found that when the profession distribution of a crowd network is deviate less to the expected distribution, the intelligence level of a crowd network will be higher. Moreover, when subjects within the crowd network interact with each other more actively, the intelligence level of a crowd network becomes higher. Originality/value: This paper aims to build the MFBEQ model according to factors that are related to business entropy and then uses the model to evaluate the intelligence level of a number of crowd networks.

Purpose: This paper aims to optimize and evaluating the performance of the crowd networks through analyzing their information sharing patterns. That is, in a crowd network, the qualities of accomplishing tasks are highly dependent on the effective information sharing among intelligent subjects within the networks. Hence, proposing an adaptive information-sharing approach can help improve the performance of crowd networks on accomplishing tasks that are assigned to them. Design/methodology/approach: This paper first introduces the factors that affect effectiveness of information-sharing pattern: the network topology, the resources owned by intelligent subjects and the degree of information demand. By analyzing the correlation between these factors and the performance of crowd networks, an Adaptive Information Sharing Approach for Crowd Networks (AISCN approach) is proposed. By referring to information needed for accomplishing the historical tasks that are assigned to a crowd network, the AISCN approach can explore the optimized information-sharing pattern based on the predefined composite objective function. The authors implement their approach on two crowd networks including bee colony and supply chain, to prove the effectiveness of the approach. Findings: The shared information among intelligent subjects affects the efficiency of task completion in the crowd network. The factors that can be used to describe the effectiveness of information-sharing patterns include the network topology, the resources owned by intelligent subjects and the degree of information demand. The AISCN approach used heuristic algorithm to solve a composite objective function which takes all these factors into consideration, so that the optimized information-sharing pattern can be obtained. Originality/value: This paper introduces a set of factors that can be used to describe the correlation between information-sharing pattern and performance of crowd network. By quantifying such correlation based on these factors, this paper proposes an adaptive information-sharing approach which can explore the optimized information-sharing pattern for a variety of crowd networks. As the approach is a data-driven approach that explores the information-sharing pattern based on the network’s performance on historical tasks and network’s characteristics, it is adaptive to the dynamic change (change of incoming tasks, change of network characteristics) of the target crowd network. To ensure the commonality of the information-sharing approach, the proposed approach is not designed for a specific optimization algorithm. In this way, during the implementation of the proposed approach, heuristic algorithms can be chosen according to the complexity of the target crowd network.

By using diffusion MR imaging tractography combined with graph analysis, our study found disrupted topologic organization of brain structural connectome in individuals with subjective cognitive decline and provided potential connectome-based biomarkers for the early detection of cognitive impairment in elderly individuals.

Although individuals with subjective cognitive decline did not show gray matter loss in this study, they had functional alterations of spontaneous or intrinsic brain activity, and the alterations were correlated with episodic memory performance; these results suggest that resting-state functional MR imaging is a sensitive imaging technique for capturing brain alterations in individuals with subjective cognitive decline.

With the rapid growth in the number of mobile phone users, mobile payments have become an important part of mobile e-commerce applications. Secure payment systems directly affect the security of e-commerce systems. This study proposes an anomaly detection mechanism supported by an information entropy method combined with neural network to improve mobile payments security. As the entropy value is sensitive and have much difference between normal and abnormal traffic flow in the mobile payment system, the abnormal traffic data will be detected. The simulation result shows that it can realise the effective monitoring of abnormal flow in the mobile payment system.

DNA nanoframeworks, with great biological information and controlled framework structures, exhibit great potentials in biological applications. Their applications are normally limited by unstable structures susceptible to hydrolysis, depurination, depyrimidination, oxidation, alkylation, or nuclease degradations. Herein, to ensure the mechanical and chemical stabilities of DNA nanoframeworks for intracellular applications, biomineralization of multifunctional DNA nanoframeworks with a tetrahedral skeleton is employed. Via silicification, the S–S bond is simultaneously introduced to obtain the silica-armored DNA nanoframeworks (Si-DNA nanoframeworks), mechanically and chemically stabilized for efficient intracellular deliveries. This successfully prevents degradations and leakages of reagents loaded on Si-DNA nanoframeworks, including biomolecular siRNA and small DOX drugs. Furthermore, the nucleic acid strands of the nanoframeworks are labeled with FAM and the quencher, facilitating miRNA detection upon “turn-on” signals from hybridizations. Therefore, the nanoframeworks collapse via double responses of the silica coating (silica acidic dissolution and S–S reduction by GSH) in cancer cells, realizing on-demand reagent release for miRNA detection and synergistic treatments (by siRNA and DOX). Demonstrated by both in vivo and in vitro experiments, the biomineralization has stabilized DNA nanomaterials for biological applications.

The qualitative analysis of a three-species reaction-diffusion model with a modified Leslie-Gower scheme under the Neumann boundary condition is obtained. The existence and the stability of the constant solutions for the ODE system and PDE system are discussed, respectively. And then, the priori estimates of positive steady states are given by the maximum principle and Harnack inequality. Moreover, the nonexistence of nonconstant positive steady states is derived by using Poincaré inequality. Finally, the existence of nonconstant positive steady states is established based on the Leray-Schauder degree theory.

A specially designed magnetron sputtering technique, the energy-filtering magnetron sputtering (EFMS) technique, was utilized to deposit aluminum nitride (AlN) thin films on Si (100) substrates. Improvements in the crystallization properties, surface morphology and optical properties of the films were studied. The results indicate that EFMS can be a useful technique for preparing high-quality thin films, which will be helpful in enabling potential applications of AlN thin film based microelectronic, optoelectronic and surface acoustic wave devices.
