A novel van der Waals (vdWs) heterostructure composed of V3O7·H2O nanowire film and Td-MoTe2flake is presented for photodetection for the first time. The vdWs heterojunction device demonstrated more efficient photodetection performance with higher responsivity of 76.89 mA/W, superior specific detectivity of 1.22 × 1010Jones, higher external quantum efficiency of 10.61% and fast response (rise time = 27.0 ms and fall time = 27.2 ms).A van der Waals heterostructure composed of V3O7·H2O nanowire film and Td-MoTe2flake for NIR photodetection with responsivity of 76.89 mA/W, specific detectivity of 1.22 × 1010Jones, external quantum efficiency of 10.61% and fast response speed (rise time = 27.0 ms and fall time = 27.2 ms).

We fabricated a composite structure of SnO2nanoparticles, derivant of Co-MOF(C) and carbon cloth (CC), that is, SnO2@C/CC, which can be directly used as an anode for a lithium-ion battery. SnO2@C/CC composite delivered reversible capacities of 2700 mAh g-1at 0.1 A g-1. SnO2@C/CC composite exhibits an outstanding discharge capacity of 1000 mAh g-1at 3 A g-1after 500 cycles. Further, it displays a reversible capacity of 600 mAh g-1at 5 A g-1over 500 cycles.SnO2/C@CC composite anode for lithium-ion battery without a metal collector which fabricated by a hydrothermal-bases route has superior cycle performance of 1000 mAh g-1over 500 cycles at 3 A g-1, and excellent rate performance with discharge capacity of 600 mAh g-1at 5 A g-1.

Low-cost multicomponent alloyed one-dimensional (1D) semiconductors exhibit broadband absorption from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared regime, which has attracted a great deal of interest in high-performance flexible optoelectronic devices. Here, we report the facile one-step fabrication of high-performance broadband rigid and flexible photodevices based on multicomponent alloyed 1D cadmium–sulfur–selenide (CdSxSe1–x) micro-nanostructures obtained via a vapor transport route. Photoresponse measurements have demonstrated their superior spectral photoresponsivity (5.8 × 104A/W), several orders of magnitude higher than the pristine CdSe nanobelt photodevice, high specific detectivity (2 × 1015Jones), photogain (1.2 × 105), external quantum efficiency (EQE, 1.4 × 107%), rapid response speed (13 ms), and excellent long-term environmental stability. The multicomponent alloyed CdSxSe1–xnanobelt photodevice demonstrated about three times higher photocurrent as well as can operate under multiple color illuminations (200–800 nm) and at a high applied bias of 10 V with the photoresponsivity and EQE being boosted to 4.34 × 105A/W and 8.96 × 107%, respectively. Furthermore, multicomponent alloyed CdSxSe1–xnanobelt flexible photodevices show excellent mechanical and flexural photostabilities with identical photoresponse as rigid nanodevices. The improvement mechanism found in the present research can be exploited to lead to the design of high-performance flexible photodevices comprising other multicomponent nanomaterials.

The neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) of the head and neck are rare. The purpose of this article is to explore the diagnosis and treatment of NECs in the ear and larynx. We report a case of a patient with NECs found in the ear and throat simultaneously, and the relevant literatures are reviewed. It is difficult to identify which is the original site. There is no specific clinical manifestation of NECs in the ear and throat, and carcinoid syndrome is a rare situation. Surgery is still the preferred treatment for this disease. For patients with metastasis, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy are required.

Despite numerous studies on broadband photodetectors, the problematic query that remains unaddressed is the limited photoresponsivity while broadening the spectral regime. Here, for the first time, a rational design of a hybrid 1D CdSe nanobelt/2D PbI2flake heterojunction device is constructed, which substantially boosts the photocurrent while significantly attenuating the dark current, resulting in improved photodetector figures-of-merit. Thanks to the excellent quality of the nanobelt/flake and built-in electric field at the CdSe/PbI2interface heterojunction, photogenerated carriers are promptly segregated and more photoexcitons are accumulated by the respective electrodes, enabling a high responsivity of ∼106A/W, making this one of the highest values among similar reported hybrid heterojunction photodetectors, together with a large linear dynamic range, superior sensitivity, excellent detectivity and external quantum efficiency, an ultrafast response, and a broadband spectral response range. The similar 1D/2D hybrid heterojunction device architecture assembled on the flexible polyimide tape substrate exhibits excellent folding endurance and mechanical, flexural, and long-term environmental stability. The present device architecture and robust operational stability in an ambient environment reveals that the combination of the present 1D/2D hybrid heterojunction has incredible potential for future flexible photoelectronic devices.

To investigate the mechanism of action of Wuzi Yanzong pill (WYP) in rats with oligoasthenozoospermia (OAZ) via metabolomics and to provide a possible basis for improving this WYP-based treatment.

Laser anti-drone technology is entering the sequence of actual combat, and it is necessary to consider the vulnerability of typical functional parts of UAVs. Since the concept of "vulnerability" was proposed, a variety of analysis programs for battlefield targets to traditional weapons have been developed, but a comprehensive assessment methodology for targets' vulnerability to laser is still missing. Based on the shotline method, this paper proposes a method that equates laser beam to shotline array, an efficient vulnerability analysis program of target to laser is established by this method, and the program includes the circuit board and the wire into the vulnerability analysis category, which improves the precision of the vulnerability analysis. Taking the UAV engine part as the target of vulnerability analysis, combine with the "life-death unit method" to calculate the laser penetration rate of various materials of the UAV, and the influence of laser weapon system parameters and striking orientation on the killing probability is quantified after introducing the penetration rate into the vulnerability analysis program. The quantitative analysis method proposed in this paper has certain general expansibility, which can provide a fresh idea for the vulnerability analysis of other targets to laser.

Investigations of the ground and excited states absorption are very important for the development of advanced optical limiters. Linear response time-dependent density-functional theory (LR-TDDFT) has become popular for calculating absorption spectra of molecules in their ground state. However, calculation for the excited state turns out to be much more complicated. In the present paper, it is shown that the transition dipole moments between two excited states can be well-estimated based on auxiliary excited-state wavefunctions extracted from the LR-TDDFT calculation. For application, the absorption spectra in zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc), distyrylbenzene (DSB), and 3-methylthiophenes heptamer (3MT heptamer) are investigated in detail along with different density functional models, and results are compared with experimental data and other theoretical methods. The computational cost of the present method is much cheaper than other theoretical methods, such as quadratic response TDDFT.

Sodium (Na)- and potassium (K)-doped δ-MnO2, which presented different band gaps, were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Then, uniform Au nanoparticles (NPs) were deposited on MnO2to form metal–semiconductor nano-heterojunctions (MnO2–Au). By comparing their temperature-dependent thermal catalytic performances, p-aminothiophenol to p,p′-dimercaptoazobenzene conversion was used as proof-of-concept transformations. MnO2–Au hybrid materials demonstrated better thermal catalytic performances relative to individual Au NPs. Meanwhile, K-doped MnO2–Au, with a MnO2support displaying a narrower bandgap, displayed superior catalytic activities relative to Na-doped MnO2–Au. To get the same catalytic performance by individual Au NPs, it can be ∼50 K less by Na-doped MnO2–Au and ∼100 K less by K-doped MnO2–Au. The enhancement is mainly attributed to the thermally excited electrons in MnO2, which were transferred to Au NPs. The additional electrons in Au NPs increase the electron density and thus contribute to the improvement of thermal catalysis. Our findings show that the establishment of a nano-heterojunction formed by metal NPs on a semiconductor support has a significant impact on thermal catalysis, where a narrower band gap can facilitate thermally excited carriers and thus bring about better catalytic performances. Thus, the results presented here shed light on the design of a nano-heterojunction catalyst to approach reactions with superior performance under moderate conditions.

In this work, VO2(B) nanorod/MoS2nanosheet heterostructures with MoS2nanosheets grown on VO2(B) nanorods have been synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method. The VO2(B) nanorod/MoS2nanosheet heterostructure electrodes maintained a high reversible capacity of 694.5 mA h g−1for 100 cycles at a current density of 100 mA g−1. Furthermore, the electrodes still maintained a high reversible capacity of 403.2 mA h g−1at a current density of 500 mA g−1after 60 cycles, which is far superior to that of bare VO2nanorods.VO2(B) nanorods/MoS2nanosheets heterostructures were synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method. The electrodes based on VO2(B)/MoS2heterostructures still maintained a high reversible capacity of 403.2 mA h g−1at a current density of 500 mA g−1after 60 cycles, which is far superior to that of bare VO2(B) nanorods.

In this letter, larger-scale and small-size SnO2nanoparticles were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method using SnCl4·5H2O and deionized (DI) water. The diameter of as-produced SnO2nanoparticles was about 6 nm. As anode materials for lithium ion batteries, the initial reversible deintercalation capacity of SnO2nanoparticles electrodes reached 1283 mA h g−1. The electrodes revealed a capacity of 760 mA h g−1(close to its theoretical value of 782 mA h g−1) up to 40 cycles exhibiting high lithium storage capacity and Coulomb efficiency.Larger-scale and small-size SnO2nanoparticles were synthesized by a facial hydrothermal method using SnCl4·5H2O and deionized water. Because of the direct band gap of 4.9 eV, β-Ga2O3has been considered as an ideal material for solar-blind photodetection without any bandgap tuning. Practical applications of the photodetectors require fast response speed, high signal-to-noise ratio, low energy consumption and low fabrication cost. Unfortunately, most reported β-Ga2O3-based photodetectors usually possess a relatively long response time. In addition, the β-Ga2O3photodetectors based on bulk, the individual 1D nanostructure, and the film often suffer from the high cost, the low repeatability, and the relatively large dark current, respectively. In this paper, a Au/β-Ga2O3nanowires array film vertical Schottky photodiode is successfully fabricated by a simple thermal partial oxidation process. The device exhibits a very low dark current of 10 pA at −30 V with a sharp cutoff at 270 nm. More interestingly, the 90–10% decay time of our device is only around 64 μs, which is much quicker than any other previously reported β-Ga2O3-based photodetectors. Besides, the self-powering, the excellent stability and the good reproducibility of Au/β-Ga2O3nanowires array film photodetector are helpful to its commercialization and practical applications.

A facile pulse laser ablation approach for preparing black titanium oxide nanospheres, which could be used as photocatalysts under visible light, is proposed. The black titanium oxide nanospheres are prepared by pulsed-laser irradiation of pure titanium oxide in suspended aqueous solution. The crystalline phases, morphology, and optical properties of the obtained nanospheres are characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV–vis–NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. It is shown that high-energy laser ablation of titanium oxide suspended solution benefited the formation of Ti3+species and surface disorder on the surface of the titanium oxide nanospheres. The laser-modified black titanium oxide nanospheres could absorb the full spectrum of visible light, thus exhibiting good photocatalytic performance under visible light.
