Abstract

The article discusses the restorative justice system implemented by Kensington Creative & Performing Arts High School principal Debora Borges-Carrera to rebuild the school community standing of minority student transgressors. Topics included are the counterproductive discipline policies of school districts involving transfers for offenses such as possession of weapons, and the provision of empathy training under peer-mediation programs.
