Abstract

The article presents a study that investigated the corrosion behavior of galvanized steel with various percentage of exposed substrate in a sodium chloride solution. The study used electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and open circuit potential measurements, and reveals the link between increase in galvanic corrosion rate of zinc and the increase in the area of the exposed steel.
