A reverse edge magic total (REMT) labeling is called a reverse super edge magic total (RSEMT) labeling if vertex-set receive natural numbers. In present paper, we compute the RSEMT labeling on the forest of paths and subdivided star.

AbstractInitially some concepts related to soft vector spaces have been studied. It is shown that there is a soft matrix associated with a soft linear transform. Optimization of a process as a whole can be studied with the help of soft matrices. In this regard notion of a convex soft set is investigated. Therefore idea of soft linear programming emerges as a natural consequence. Thus soft optimality theorem is presented.

Soft set theory and rough set theory are two newer tools to discuss uncertainty. Soft graphs are a nice way to depict certain information. In order to discuss uncertainty in soft graphs, a new type of graphs called neighborhood based soft covering rough graphs is introduced. We have discussed the uncertainty measures associated with neighborhood based soft covering rough graphs such as roughness measure, entropy measure and granularity. Some important properties of these uncertainty measures are investigated and the relationships between such measures are established. These properties will help to understand the essence of uncertainty measurement and in measuring the quality of a decision rule.

Vitamin D is widely used to manage chronic kidney disease–mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD). We evaluated the effects of vitamin D therapy on mortality, cardiovascular, bone, and kidney outcomes in adults with CKD.

Over a 2-year period, 10 male athletes underwent repair of the pectoralis major tendon using a double-row surgical technique using 3 bone anchors to produce a foot print repair of the pectoralis major tendon. The mean patient age was 33.9 years (23 to 46 y). The mean time between surgery and the original injury was 11.6 weeks (1 to 48 wk). Outcome measures included patient satisfaction, bench press strength, pain, and cosmesis. The average follow-up was 20.3 months (12 to 39 mo). Eight patients had pain before surgery and all patients were not satisfied with the appearance of their chest. The average loss of bench press strength was 75 preoperatively. At the final follow-up, none of the patients complained of any pain while pushing objects away from their body; 9 patients had no pain on moving their arm across the chest whiereas 1 patient reported mild pain. Nine patients were satisfied with the appearance. The average improvement in bench press strength was 90. One patient developed a deep infection requiring a further washout and antibiotics. No rerupture was seen among any of 4 patients. There was no difference in outcomes between the early and late repairs in all the criteria. In conclusion, satisfactory results can be achieved with a suture-anchor footprint repair technique of the pectoralis major strength athletes with return to earlier sports and strength.

An experimental oil adjuvant vaccine was developed against haemorrhagic septicaemia, a disease of cattle and buffalo caused by Pasteurella multocidaserotype B and E. Mineral oil, Mercol 52, was used as adjuvant together with Span 85 and Tween 85 as emulsifiers. The vaccine was evaluated by single dose intramuscular immunisation of 1–2 year old buffalo calves. IgG and IgM class antibodies were determined by ELISA. The group of animals immunised with the experimental oil adjuvant vaccine showed a high titre of the IgG class of antibodies measured at 300 days post vaccination. To compare the protective efficacy of the vaccine with the commonly used broth bacterin, another group of buffalo calves was immunised by broth bacterin. This group showed a low level of IgG antibodies. Protection was assessed by challenge with 109viable bacteria of P. multocidatype B:2,5 administered subcutaneously, 250 days post vaccination. Animals vaccinated with the experimental oil adjuvant vaccine were fully protected. The other groups of animals, vaccinated with broth bacterin or used as control (non‐vaccinated), developed symptoms of haemorrhagic septicaemia. A strong relationship between IgG but not IgM class antibody level and resistance to challenge was observed. The experiment demonstrated that the experimental oil adjuvant vaccine was superior to broth bacterin in providing protection against experimental haemorrhagic septicaemia in young buffalo calves beyond 250 days.

We present a case of septicaemia and compartment syndrome of the leg in a diabetic patient, following acupuncture to his calf. An emergency decompression fasciotomy was performed on the patient and gram-positive cocci were grown from the posterior compartment wound swab cultures and group A streptococcus from his blood cultures. He remained in the Intensive Therapy Unit postoperatively, requiring inotropic support and intravenous antibiotics for his septicaemia. We would like to remind acupuncturists, to consider the possibility of heightened risks in immunocompromised patients.

The toxic activity of Pasteurella multocida strains which cause haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) in buffalo and cattle was examined in a mouse model. Mice were injected intraperitoneally with 102 cells of P. multocida serotype B:2,5. Electron microscopy of peritoneal macrophages obtained 6 h after injection revealed strong induction of cytoplasmic vacuolation, macrophage lysis and death. In vitro experiments with the mouse macrophage cell line RAW 264 incubated with cultures of various HS- and non-HS-associated strains of P. multocida or with culture supernatants revealed macrophage vacuolation when HS-associated strains were used. On pre-incubation of the strains with antiserum obtained from buffalo infected with P. multocida serotype B:2,5 no vacuolation was observed. These results are indicative of the presence of vacuolating cytotoxic activity in HS-associated strains of P. multocida.
