In a forensic department, teeth play a crucial role to recognise a dead or missing person. In forensic analysis, gender difference is a considerable one. Yet, gender identification with dental images using deep learning methods are still in research. An algorithm is proposed here to find human gender using panoramic dental X-ray images (DXI). This work is organised into three sections such as image pre-processing, gradient-based recursive threshold (GBRT) segmentation and classification. Initially, prime magic square filter is used to remove the unwanted noises. Secondly, segmentation GBRT is used. Finally with Resnet50 network, the gender is classified. The dataset of 285 dental images were taken and they are augmented to 4,000 dental images and then they are separated as 3,000 images for training and 1,000 images for testing to carry out experimental evaluation. It provides classification accuracy of 94%. It shows that the proposed work gives convincing results.

Typhoons, fueled by warm sea surface waters, heighten concern as they increasingly interact with frequent Marine Heatwaves (MHWs) in a changing climate. Typhoon Hinnamnor (2022) weakened and re‐intensified as it approached the Korean Strait, interacting with an underlying MHW in the northern East China Sea (nECS). In‐situ observations and reanalysis products revealed a significant increase in latent heat loss from the nECS during the MHW period, contributing to the typhoon re‐intensification. Strong sea surface wind forcing with the typhoon enhanced vertical mixing and upwelling, resulting in a pronounced (0.90°C) sea surface cooling after the typhoon passage, facilitating MHW disappearance with reduced thermal stratification. During MHWs, increased background stratification increases temperature oscillations associated with semidiurnal internal tides. Furthermore, post‐typhoon changes in stratification weakened semidiurnal internal tides due to unfavorable conditions for generation from a nearby source. These findings highlight the importance of continuous time‐series observations to monitor interactions among climatic extremes. Typhoons, powered by warm ocean waters, are causing more concern as they increasingly interact with frequent episodes of extremely warm sea conditions known as Marine Heatwaves (MHWs) in a changing climate. This study focuses on Typhoon Hinnamnor in 2022, which went through a weakening and then strengthened as it moved to the Korean Strait and encountered an MHW in the northern East China Sea (nECS). By using in‐situ data collected in the nECS and additional data analysis, we discovered a significant increase in heat loss from the nECS during the MHW, contributing to the intensification of typhoon. The powerful winds from the typhoon caused enhanced mixing and cooling of the sea surface after it passed, helping to cause the disappearance of the MHW and reduce the layering of temperatures in the ocean. During MHW, strong layering strengthens the temperature oscillation linked with the semidiurnal internal tides in the ocean. After typhoon passage there is a decrease in the layering in the ocean, thus weakening the internal tide. The study emphasizes the importance of continuous observations to understand and monitor these interactions in our changing climate. Quercetin (QT) is found to be a green source of anti-corrosion additive for M-S protection in 0.5 M sulfuric solution. Weight loss, surface studies, atomic absorption spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization (PP), impedance spectroscopy (EIS), - more especially, scanning electron microscopy combined with energy dispersive spectroscopy SEM/EDS—and simulation studies were among the methods used to evaluate the efficacy of corrosion inhibition. With 1000 ppm of the inhibitor at 303 K, the weight loss trials had the highest inhibition effectiveness of 96.8 % which obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The inhibitor QT is represented as mixed-type as per polarization studies. Scanning electron microscopy test results showed the lesser degradation of the lower M-S surface in 0.5 M H2SO4solution at 1000 ppm QT. Moreover, modelling studies employing density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD) showed that the green inhibitor QT adsorbed on the M-S surface and formed a barrier on the metal surface.

During the summer of 2016, the northern East China Sea and the southern Yellow Sea (NECS‐SYS) experienced one of the most severe and devastating marine heatwaves (MHWs) on record, with a temperature anomaly exceeding 4°C. This shallow semi‐enclosed continental shelf region is widely recognized as a significant hotspot for MHWs with associated incidences of harmful algae blooms. Previous studies have highlighted the importance of mixed layer shoaling as a crucial factor in the genesis of MHWs in the global ocean. The current study employed the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model reanalysis data set during 1994–2015 to delve into the mechanisms driving mixed layer shoaling during NECS‐SYS MHW genesis. Our findings reveal the significant role of the northward propagating boreal summer intraseasonal oscillation in promoting MHW genesis and intensification. Specifically, boreal summer intraseasonal oscillation phases 5, 6, and 7 contribute to the favorable conditions that facilitate MHW formation by inducing mixed layer shoaling and increasing solar influx, with mixed layer shoaling playing a more dominant role. The current study provides insights into the relative influences of wind, salinity, and temperature on mixed layer shoaling. We observe that wind plays the most significant role in mixed layer shoaling, followed by temperature and salinity. The boreal summer intraseasonal oscillation induced wind relaxation, increased shortwave radiation, and freshwater influx lead sea surface temperature by 7, 5, and 4 days, respectively. Importantly, mixed layer shoaling leads SST anomalies by 1–2 days. Therefore, the current study also suggests an intraseasonal predictability source for NECS‐SYS MHWs. Our research demonstrates that boreal summer intraseasonal oscillation phases 5, 6, and 7 contribute to the amplification of solar flux and the shoaling of mixed layer by reducing wind speed and introducing freshwater in this region. We provide a comprehensive understanding of the individual influences of wind, salinity, and temperature on mixed layer shoaling, highlighting the significance of mixed layer shoaling as a fundamental driver of MHWs. Moreover, our research also directs to an intraseasonal predictability source of the NECS‐SYS MHWs. Traditionally, controlling corrosion has been managed by various methods like cathodic protection, process control, reduction of the metal impurity content and application of surface treatment techniques as well as incorporation of suitable alloys. However, the use of corrosion inhibitors has proven to be the easiest and cheapest method for corrosion protection and prevention in acidic media. These inhibitors slow down the corrosion rate and thus prevent economic losses due to metallic corrosion on industrial vessels, equipment or surfaces. Many researchers have recently focused on corrosion prevention methods using organic inhibitors for mild steel in acidic solutions to mimic industrial processes. This paper arranges for an overview of types of corrosion, corrosion process and mainly recent work done on the application of quinolone derivatives as corrosion inhibitors for different metals.

•Ensemble Super Learner (ESL), a heterogeneous ensemble is proposed to predict the genotoxic profile of various MW-CNTs.•The proposed model encompasses the deep autoencoder and three machine learning models alongside.•ESL automates genotoxicity prediction and exhibits cent percent classification accuracy over the available sparse data.•Multiple variants of MW-CNTs including pristine and impure have been investigated for their genotoxicity.

Marine heatwaves (MHWs) are extreme oceanic warm water events (above 90th percentile threshold) that significantly impact the marine environment. Recent studies have explored the genesis and impacts of MHWs in the global oceans though they are least understood in the tropical Indian Ocean. Here we investigate the genesis and trend of MHWs in the Indian Ocean during 1982–2018 and their role in modulating the Indian summer monsoon. We find that the rapid warming in the Indian Ocean plays a critical role in increasing the number of MHWs. Meanwhile, the El Niño has a prominent influence on the occurrence of MHWs during the monsoon. The Indian Ocean warming and the El Niño variability have synergistically resulted in some of the strongest and long‐lasting MHWs in the Indian Ocean. The western Indian Ocean region experienced the largest increase in MHWs at a rate of 1.2–1.5 events per decade, followed by the north Bay of Bengal at a rate of 0.4–0.5 events per decade. Locally, the MHWs are induced by increased solar radiation, relaxation of winds, and reduced evaporative cooling. In the western Indian Ocean, the decreased winds further restrict the heat transport by ocean currents from the near‐equatorial regions toward the north. Our analysis indicates that the MHWs in the western Indian Ocean and the north Bay of Bengal lead to a reduction in monsoon rainfall over the central Indian subcontinent. On the other hand, there is an enhancement of monsoon rainfall over southwest India due to the MHWs in the Bay of Bengal. Marine heatwaves are periods of extremely high temperatures in the ocean. Though recent studies have reported their occurrence and impacts in the global oceans, they are least understood in the tropical Indian Ocean. In the current study, we find that marine heatwaves are increasing in the Indian Ocean, with the largest increase observed over the western Indian Ocean, followed by the north Bay of Bengal. These marine heatwaves occur as a result of background ocean warming in the Indian Ocean and also in response to El Niño events in the Pacific Ocean. Locally, a peak in solar radiation and a dip in evaporative cooling due to weak winds lead to the formation of these marine heatwaves. In the western Indian Ocean, the weak winds also reduce the heat transported by ocean currents from the near‐equatorial regions toward the north, intensifying the marine heatwave. In turn, these marine heatwaves impact the monsoon by reducing the rainfall over the central Indian subcontinent while enhancing it over the southern peninsula. AbstractSyzygium makul, is a tree species belonging to family Myrtaceae, categorised as vulnerable under the IUCN red list of threatened plant. Fresh leaf samples of Syzygium makulextracted by hydrodistillation process were analyzed for their chemical composition. A total of 72 compounds were identified among which (3-caryophyllene (20.31 %), cis-β-Ocimene (11.23 %), δ-Cadinene (11.02 %), γ-Maaliene (7.68 %) and 4,9-Cadinadiene (6.68 %) are the major constituents.

The inhibition efficiency (IE) of thiazolo thiadiazole (TT) derivatives on the mild steel corrosion in 1 M sulphuric acid was studied by weight-loss and electrochemical studies. The outcomes attained from these studies showed that the efficiency of the inhibitors was found to increase with increasing inhibitor concentration. Theoretical fitting of Langmuir isotherms were tried to elucidate the adsorption mode. Potentiodynamic Polarization studies revealed that these thiazolo thiadiazole derivatives performed as mixed type. DFT calculations have been performed to study the adsorption sites of these compounds taking part in the inhibition process through acceptor-donor interaction. Negative values of the interaction energy and high values of the binding energy obtained by molecular simulations (MC and MD) show that the synthesized thiazolo thiadiazolemolecules are strongly adsorbed on the iron surface with maximum protection against corrosion.
