The Δ-scaling method has been applied to the total multiplicity distribution of the relativistic ion collisions of p+p, C+C and Pb+Pb which were simulated by a Monte Carlo package, LUCIAE 3.0. It is found that the Δ-scaling parameter decreases with increasing system size. Moreover, the heat capacities of different mesons and baryons have been extracted from the event-by-event temperature fluctuation in the region of low transverse mass and they shows the dropping trend with increasing impact parameter.

This work embodies studies, performed with micropellet type dosage forms of Pentazocine Hydrochloride (Pz-HCl), using single and composite matrices of Eudragit RS100 (RS) and RL100 (RL). The effects of formulation parameters on various dosage form criteria - namely drug loading, particle size distribution, release profiles etc. have been investigated. Results indicate, that the two polymers can be successfully combined to produce different changes in release kinetics, with simple modifications of coating composition and initial drug loads.

Ethylcellulose microcapsules containing theophylline were prepared by the phase-separation coacervation process induced by non-solvent addition in the presence of variable amounts of polyisobutylene. No statistical difference was evident between the different sized microcapsules with respect to their drug content, wall thickness and in-vitro drug dissolution profiles. Poly-isobutylene was, however, found to influence the release profiles of drug to a great extent. An increase in polyisobutylene concentration retarded the release of theophylline from the microcapsules due to the formation of smaller and spheroidal coacervate droplets in larger volumes, which resulted in the formation of more evenly coated microcapsules. Although the release of theophylline from the microcapsules was found to fit both the first order and diffusion controlled release processes, differential rate treatment indicated that the overall release, in fact, was governed by diffusion controlled process.
