After showing me around the first floor of the center, Riccardi and Harris took me up in the elevator to see the real riches: every item that has been preserved from Armstrong's possessions and collections. I loved this music as a kid, but now I know the history: Armstrong's 1959 All-Stars were a relaxed and soulful collection of the highest- caliber musicians, and they were redoing some of the tunes Armstrong had cut his teeth on.
