Abstract

Researchers from Qiqihar Medical University in China conducted a study on liver fibrosis, a reversible pathological process in various liver diseases. They found that cycloastragenol (CAG) alleviated liver fibrosis in mice by inhibiting autophagy and activating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. The study concluded that natural products like CAG could be important sources of drugs for treating liver fibrosis.
