Despite the potential indicating role of tyrosinase (TYR) in cutaneous melanoma, how to capture the real changes of TYR in suspicious skin remains a major challenge. Unlike the traditional human serum test, this study reports a sensing platform that incorporates a wearable microneedle (MN) patch and trimetallic Au@Ag-Pt nanoparticles (NPs) for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and colorimetric dual-mode detecting TYR in human skin in situtoward potential melanoma screening. In the presence of TYR, catechol immobilized on MN is preferentially oxidized to benzoquinone, which competitively impedes the interaction of MN and Au@Ag-Pt NPs, triggering the SERS–colorimetric signal reciprocal switch. Using a B16F10 mouse melanoma model, our platform is capable of noninvasively piercing the skin surface and detecting TYR levels before and during anti-PD-1 antibody treatment, which would be highly informative for prognostic judgment and illness monitoring of melanoma. Through in situsensing for capturing the metabolic changes of TYR in advance, this platform was successfully applied to discriminate the melanoma subjects from skin moles and normal ones (p< 0.001), as well as screen potential melanoma from lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)-negative patients. Melanoma growth and prognosis can still be monitored through recording the continuous change of TYR levels. More importantly, the well-defined flexible and stretchable characteristics of the MN patch allow robustly adhering to the skin without inducing chemical or physical irritation. We believe this platform integrating MN-based in situsensing, TYR responsiveness, and SERS/colorimetric dual-readout strategy will have high clinical importance in early diagnosis and monitoring of cutaneous melanoma.

Skin is one barrier protecting from environmental risk factors that can make skin cells cancerous through DNA damage and oxidative stress. The nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) pathway is an anti-stress defense system that can be regulated by DNA methylation and histone modification. Dietary phytochemicals have chemopreventive properties that can inhibit or delay carcinogenesis. The lotus leaf is a traditional medicinal plant containing many polyphenols whose extracts show many biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-obesity, and anti-cancer. This study aim to investigate the effect of lotus leaves on neoplastic transformation in murine skin JB6 P+ cells.

Ferroelectric solid solutions with composition near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) have gained extensive attention recently due to their excellent ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. Here, we have demonstrated a strategy to realize the controllable preparation of BiFeO3–BaTiO3(BF–BT) epitaxial films near the MPB. A series of high-quality BF–BT films were fabricated by pulsed laser deposition via adjusting oxygen partial pressure (PO2) using a BF–BT ceramic target. A continuous transition from rhombohedral to tetragonal phase was observed upon increasing PO2. Particularly, the film with a pure tetragonal phase exhibited a large remnant polarization of ∼90.6 μC/cm2, while excellent piezoelectric performance with an ultrahigh strain (∼0.48%) was obtained in the film with coexisting rhombohedral and tetragonal phases. The excellent ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties endow the BF–BT system near the MPB with great application prospects in lead-free electronic devices.

HfO2-based films with high compatibility with Si and complementary metal-oxide semiconductors (CMOS) have been widely explored in recent years. In addition to ferroelectricity and antiferroelectricity, flexoelectricity, the coupling between polarization and a strain gradient, is rarely reported in HfO2-based films. Here, we demonstrate that the mechanically written out-of-plane domains are obtained in 10 nm Hf0.5Zr0.5O2(HZO) ferroelectric film at room temperature by generating the stress gradient via the tip of an atomic force microscope. The results of scanning Kelvin force microscopy (SKPM) exclude the possibility of flexoelectric-like mechanisms and prove that charge injection could be avoided by mechanical writing and thus reveal the true polarization state, promoting wider flexoelectric applications and ultrahigh-density storage of HZO thin films.

Screening for metals in urine is important because toxic levels of these elements are linked to disease. In the current study, the authors used differential pulse stripping voltammetry on a hanging mercury drop electrode for the simultaneous determination of cadmium, cobalt, lead, and nickel in the urine of 63 production and 63 quality control workers in a steel production plant, along with 63 matched normal controls. Urinary sampling is a noninvasive procedure, and in this study participants had good compliance. Metal levels for both the production and quality control workers were significantly higher than for controls. 2-Heptyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolone (PQS), a compound from P. aeruginosa, functions as both a quorum sensing (QS) regulator and a potent iron chelator to induce expression of pyoverdine and pyochelin which are involved in high-affinity iron transport systems. A potential dual-acting antibiofilm strategy requires molecules designed to interfere with iron uptake and the QS system of P. aeruginosa. A series of 2-substituted 3-hydroxy-1,6-dimethylpyridin-4-ones have been designed, synthesized, and tested as biofilm inhibitors of P. aeruginosa.One compound, N-((1,3,6-trimethyl-4-oxo-1,4-dihydropyridin-2-yl)methyl)hexanamide (10d), exhibits 68.67% biofilm inhibitory activity at 20 μM. Further mechanistic studies have confirmed that this compound not only inhibits the QS systems of P. aeruginosabut also acts as an iron chelator to compete strongly with pyoverdine, causing iron deficiency in bacteria. The pyoverdine receptor FpvA was revealed as the target of 10dby the Pvdsmutant strain, fpvA-overexpressed strain, and in silicostudies.

Cysteiniphilum litoraleis a Gram-negative coccobacillus first isolated from the seawater of Wailingding Island near the estuary of Pearl River in southern China. This organism was previously not considered to cause disease in animals or humans.We report a case of a 19-year-old female patient infected with abscess caused by C. litoralein the middle digit of her right hand after minor trauma during the handling of estuarine shrimps at home. C. litoralewas cultured from the wound exudate of the patient and identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Whether C. litoralemay be transmitted to humans via other channels requires further exploration.

Perovskite iridates are a promising material platform for hosting unconventional superconductivity. Transport measurements of Sr2IrO4thin-film field-effect transistors are expected to provide irrefutable evidence for the existence of superconductivity. However, these experiments have revealed a remarkably robust insulating state over wide electron and hole doping ranges; this finding is in contrast to the case of the bulk material, in which metallicity appears upon moderate electron doping by substituting cations in place of Sr. The nature of this robust insulating state and whether any metallic state can be realized in the Sr2IrO4thin film are two remaining challenges that preclude further progress in the search for superconductivity in this system. Here, we show that this insulating state is enhanced in Sr2IrO4thin films by thermal annealing under vacuum conditions, while it can be destroyed upon annealing in an oxygen atmosphere within restricted ranges of oxygen pressure, annealing temperature and ion substitution levels. The resulting films exhibit metallic transport behavior near room temperature and a metal–insulator crossover at ~200 K. Our results point to the potentially important roles of the oxygen vacancies at different atomic sites in the formation of the robust insulating state and the new metallic state and to their interplay in the Sr2IrO4thin film. This finding opens new possibilities in the search for unconventional superconductivity by further tailoring the as-found metallic state in properly oxygen-annealed Sr2IrO4thin films.

Photostriction, optical stimulus driven mechanical deformation in materials, provides a solution toward next-generation technology. Here, the giant photostriction (∼2% change of lattice) of epitaxial strontium iridate (SrIrO3) films under illumination at room temperature is revealed via power-dependent Raman scattering, which is significantly larger as compared to conventional inorganic materials. The time scale and mechanism of this giant photostriction in SrIrO3are further studied through time-resolved transient reflectivity measurements. The main mechanism is determined to be the electron–phonon coupling. In addition, we find that such an exotic behavior happens within few picoseconds and remains up to 107cyclic on/off operations. The observation of giant photostriction in SrIrO3films with superior endurance promises the advance of shape responsive solids that are sensitive to environmental stimuli, which could be widely utilized for multifunctional optoelectronics and optomechanical devices.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P. aeruginosa) is well-known to cause biofilm-associated drug resistance and infections that often lead to treatment failure. Herein, we reported a dual-acting antibiofilm strategy by inhibiting both the bacterial quorum sensing system and the iron uptake system. A series of coumarin derivatives were synthesized and evaluated, and compound 4twas identified as the most effective biofilm inhibitor (IC50= 3.6 μM). Further mechanistic studies have confirmed that 4tnot only inhibits the QS systems but also competes strongly with pyoverdine as an iron chelator, causing an iron deficiency in P. aeruginosa. Additionally, 4tsignificantly improved the synergistic antibacterial effects of ciprofloxacin and tobramycin by more than 200–1000-fold compared to the single-dose antibiotic treatments. Therefore, our study has shown that 4tis a potentially novel antibacterial synergist candidate to treat bacterial infections.

It has been demonstrated that PPARγ agonists effectively inhibit proliferation, metastasis as well as induce apoptosis in human cancer cell lines. In this study, twenty-two rosiglitazone analogues, 5-benzylidene-3,4- dihalo-furan-2-one derivatives, which have been identified as PPARγ agonists in our previous work, were evaluated for their antitumor effects. Among these compounds, (Z)-3,4-dibromo-5-(3-methoxy-4-((3,5,6-trimethylpyrazin-2- yl)methoxy)benzylidene)furan-2(5H)-one (6w) shows the best antitumor activity, especially against the leukemia cell line U937, resulting in significant cytotoxicity, increased apoptosis and changes in mitochondrial membrane potential. Up-regulation of pro-apoptosis-associated proteins (Bax, caspase-3 and caspase-9) and cleaved PARP as well as down-regulation of anti-apoptosis protein Bcl-2 are observed in 6w-treated U937 cells. It was shown that the antitumor effect of 6w stems from its ability to inhibit the PPARγ-dependent expression of NF-κB and GSK-3β.

Experimental study was carried out on compressive cube strength, flexural strength and permeability coefficient of color permeable concrete using concrete waste as coarse recycled aggregate. The results show that watercement ratio has significant effect on compressive cube strength, flexural strength and permeability coefficient of color permeable recycled aggregate concrete (RAC).The flexural strength of RAC is improved by polypropylene fiber. The content of pigment from 5% to 10% has no impact on mechanical properties and permeability of RAC.

In order to explore the possibility of using repeatedly recycling waste concrete as aggregate to produce structural concrete, experimental research was carried out on the structural properties of three kinds of recycled fine aggregate (RFA) with two-regeneration cycles, two single and one mixed. The results showed that the quality of all RFAs meet the needs of Grade Ⅲ in GB/T25177-2010 and Level L in JISA 5023-2000. The degree of performance degradation is observed to enhance with increasing recycling cycle when taking the same preparation process of recycled aggregate.

Experimental research on the frost resistance of recycled high performance concrete (RHPC) was carried out, in which three kinds of replacements were considered including recycled coarse or fine aggregate to natural coarse or fine aggregate and together. The results showed that RHPC had the lower dynamic modulus and mass loss than natural aggregate concrete when the replacement of recycled coarse or fine aggregate ranged 30-70% or 10-50%. The best frost resistance of RHPC appeared to the simultaneous replacements of 50% and 10% for recycled coarse and fine aggregate.

The strength properties of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) using aggregates from repeatedly recycling concrete waste were studied. The relationships between cube compressive strength and splitting tensile strength and between each strength and replacement ratio of recycled aggregate to natural aggregate were established. The results showed that the strength properties of RAC with the design strength of 30MPa can be satisfied when the quality of recycled coarse and fine aggregates met respectively the needs of Grade II in GB/T25177-2010 and Grade III in GB/T25176-2010, with the replacement ratio to natural coarse aggregate and natural fine aggregate no more than 70% and 50%. Both strengths decreased and then increased for a while before descending again with increasing replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate, and decreased continuously with the increase of replacement ratio of recycled fine aggregate. The relationship between cube compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of RAC was found to be exponential function.

This paper presents a review of the studies on chloride penetration of recycled aggregate concrete in terms of its main factors. These factors include quality and replacement ratio of recycled concrete aggregate, mineral admixtures, water-binder ratio, type and level of load and curing mechanisms. Further, some key issues for future research are put up.

The degradation behaviors of the novel high-strength AZ31B magnesium alloy wires after surface modification using micro-arc-oxidization (MAO) and subsequently sealing with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) in different simulated physiological environments were investigated. The results show the surface MAO micropores could be physically sealed by PLLA, thus forming an effective protection to corrosion resistance for the wires. In simulated gastric fluid (SGF) at a low pH value (1.5 or 2.5), the treated wires have a high degradation rate with a rapid decrease of mass, diameter, mechanical properties and a significant increase of pH value of the immersion fluid. However, surface modification could effectively reduce the degradation rate of the treated wires in SGF with a pH value above 4.0. For the treated wires in simulated intestinal fluid at pH = 8.5, their strength retention ability is higher than that in strong acidic SGF. And the loss rate of mass is faster than that of diameter, while the pH value of the immersion fluid decreases. It should be noted that the modified wires in simulated body environment have the best strength retention ability. The wires show the different degradation behaviors indicating their different degradation mechanisms, which are also proposed in this work.

A novel electrode has been fabricated with electroabsorbing hemoglobin on the nanosilver coated carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode (Hb/Ag/CNT/GC). The modifed electrodes showed an excellent electrocatalytic activity for reduction of dissolved oxygen. The peak current is linear with oxygen concentration in the range from 1.63×10-6 to 2.58×10-4 mol.L-1 with a calculated detection limit of 9.78×10-7 mol.L-1 at a signal-to-noise rate of 3, the linear regression equation is i=0.0478C+0.0331 (R2=0.994; i: μA; C: the concentration of oxygen, μmol.L-1). So, the developed electrode was used to determination of oxygen in the water and actual samples and satisfactory results were obtained. The Hb/Ag/CNTs composites may be a potential cathode material of the air battery.

In present study, uniformed nanozirconia is obtained via precipitation, ball milling and spray drying. The characteristics of methylene blue adsorption by nanozirconia are studied in details. The morphology of nanozirconia is examined by SEM. The influence of temperature is studied to obtain the optimal adsorption conditions. The equilibrium adsorption isotherms and the kinetic properties of the adsorption process are investigated to study the mechanism. The thermodynamic properties of methylene blue adsorption is investigated, and the thermodynamic parameters of Gθ, Hθ and Sθ are calculated. The results show nanozirconia has high adsorption ability of 43.99 mg/g to methylene blue, and the adsorption reaction is a spontaneous and physic-sorption process.

The effects of multipath fading with time delay longer or shorter than one chip interval on DSSS system are mathematically and experimentally researched. Simulation results indicate that DSSS system can efficiently overcome multipath fading in multipath Rayleigh Fading channels. And the spreading gain is not the higher the better, it must be chosen reasonably.

The use of reliability simulation method of repairable systems under maintenance after failure (RSS) will not be limited by the life distribution of the systems elements. Less computation is needed with this method, the computation time is short, but results are precise and determinate. The RSS method offsets the problems in the reliability simulation with the Markov and Monte-Carlo method and has practical merits in reliability engineering. In this paper, reliability assessments are applied in FYXF-03 dynamotor prime mover simulation system by using Weibull model. A useful reference is provided for making plans for equipment repair and maintenance as well as the selection of components.

An application of a second-order adaptive lattice IIR notch filter for rejection of NBI in direct sequence spread spectrum system (DSSS) is studied . Closed-form analytical expressions for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement factor and bit error ratio (BER) of the system are derived. The performances of the algorithm have been researched and simulated in MATLAB. The adaptive filter is designed and implemented on FPGA, which is simple to realize. It is shown by the test on hardware circuit that the filter had a capacity of about 21dB for NBI rejection which satisfies the requirement.

The nonlinear finite element analysis for the flexural behavior of the concrete beams reinforced with CFRP-PCPs Composite Rebars,which was a new structural form, has been studied in ANSYS. The effects of material nonlinearities of concrete £¬steel rebar £¬CFRP rebar were considered in the analytic model. Load-displacement curves were received through calculation in this paper. Compared the present result with the experimental results has proved that the model provided is correct and convenient for the analysis of the beams.

Near-infrared reflectance (NIR) spectroscopy combined with reference data was used to predict the total starch content (TSC) and amylose content (AC) in different barley varieties. One hundred and twelve barley samples were analyzed for TSC and AC by AOAC methods. Out of the total samples, ninety were used to develop the calibration models, and twenty two were used to validate the models. The total starch model showed very good correlation with coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.96 and root mean square error of cross-validation (RMSECV) of 0.79; the correlation of amylose model was calculated to be R2 = 0.94, RMSECV = 0.94. The results showed that NIR analysis was sufficiently accurate for the determination of total starch and amylose in barley varieties.

Consumption of Salmonella-contaminated foods, such as poultry and fresh eggs, is known to be one of the main causes of salmonellosis. Conventional PCR methods, including real-time PCR for rapid detection of Salmonella, in general require skilled technicians and costly instruments. A recently developed novel convective PCR, insulated isothermal PCR (iiPCR), is carried out in polycarbonate capillary tubes. In this study, we designed TaqMan probes and PCR primers based on the yrfHgene encoding a heat shock protein for the iiPCR detection of Salmonellain chicken meat samples. The TaqMan probe was labeled with 6-carboxyfluorescein and 6-carboxytetramethylrhodamine at the 5′ and 3′ ends, respectively. The PCR amplicon was 133 bp. A typical run of this iiPCR assay was completed within 1 h. Specific PCR products were obtained for 148 strains representing 49 serotypes of Salmonellatested. Under the same conditions, false-positive results were not obtained for 98 non-Salmonellastrains tested, including strains of Enterobacteriaceaeclosely related to Salmonella. For chicken meat samples, with a 5-h enrichment step Salmonellaat as low as 100CFU/g of poultry meat could be detected. Because the amplification signals from the probes are detectable at 520 nm, identification of the PCR products by gel electrophoresis is not required. Compared with conventional PCR, the iiPCR system requires less expertise and provides an economical, reliable, and rapid tool for result interpretation. Detection results can be obtained within 8 h, including the enrichment and DNA extraction steps.

Introduction:There is an urgent need to discover novel antibiotics to overcome the growing problem of antibiotic resistance, which has become a serious concern in current medicine. Ketolides, the third generation of macrolide antibiotics, have shown promising effect against macrolide-resistant pathogens in respiratory diseases. Currently, a number of ketolide derivatives with excellent antibacterial activities have been reported, while their structure–activity relationships (SARs) were rarely explored systematically. Computer-aided drug design (CADD) such as 3D-QSAR and molecular docking are useful tools to study drug SARs in medicinal chemistry. Using these technologies, ketolide derivatives were systemically analyzed revealing important useful information about their SARs, providing useful information which can guide new drug design and optimization.Areas covered:The authors provide an overview of the currently reported 3D-QSAR models of ketolide derivatives. The authors present a comprehensive SAR model obtained from in-depth 3D-QSAR and molecular docking analysis for all kinds of ketolide derivatives.Expert opinion:3D-QSAR has been shown to be a reliable tool that had successfully assisted the design of several new antibiotics with improved activity and reduced toxicity. By applying 3D-QSAR and molecular docking, a comprehensive and systematic SAR model for ketolide derivative discovery was formed, which is important to guide future drug design for the discovery of better ketolides with lower toxicity.

In this article, the quantum dot (QD) light emitting diodes (QDLEDs) with ZnO electron transport layer (ETL) and MoO3 hole transport layer (HTL) were demonstrated. The ZnO ETL was fabricated by sol-gel method. To achieve balanced electron and hole injection, hole transport materials including 4,4'-di(N-carbazolyl)biphenyl (CBP) and MoO3 were also adapted. The device structure can be simply depicted as indium tin oxide (ITO)/ZnO/Cs2CO3/QD/CBP/MoO3/Au. It was found that the Cs2CO3 played an important role to facilitate radiative recombination and reduce the leakage current due to the poor quality of sol-gel fabricated ZnO thin film. Via inserting an annealed Cs2CO3 buffer layer with proper thickness, red-emitting QDLEDs with low luminance turn-on voltage of 4.1 V and luminance larger than 100 cd/m2 could be obtained. With our demonstration, QDLEDs with ZnO ETL can be a promising device structure for realizing QDLED’s commerizing.

Multi-heat source co-heating networks have become the main trend of future development. However, the research for the thermal optimization and dispatch of multi-heat source co-heating networks is quite few in our country. In this paper, the general process of the optimal dispatch for multi-heat source co-heating systems is proposed, and the mathematical model for optimal thermal dispatch of multi-heat source co-heating systems is established. In addition, formulas and parameter selection method for the typical thermal schemes were given. By taking an actually heating network as an example, procedure and method for some thermal dispatch schemes are provided, and the optimal operating scheme based on technical and economic analysis is given. The method provided in this paper may supply the theoretical basis for operation scheduling of realistic engineering heating network. It is very meaningful for saving energy and improving environment.

Circulating pump is used to transport hot water from source to user in heating network. It has been always neglected that transport power affects reliability of district heating system directly. In this paper, the ratio of the speed of circulating pump under design condition to the rated speed was structured to describe the allowance of circulating pump, as well as its transport power. Taking example for a single-source district heating system, the effect from transport power to reliability was analyzed by calculating the comprehensive reliability. Thus, the quantitative relationship between transport power and reliability of the district heating system was discovered, showing the maximum reliability with the related transport power of circulating pump. In addition, the analysis shows that circulating pump with steep-type performance curve can improve reliability to some extent.

As one of the most important displacements in producing petroleum, CO2 flooding has been developed for nearly 50 years around the world in order to improve the tertiary recovery. The recovery efficiency, R, is a key parameter in the CO2 displacement of crude oil. Traditionally, R is determined by conducting CO2 flooding experiment, requiring considerable resources and long time periods, with the consequence of a limited number of core plug evaluations for a particular reservoir. Thus, the estimation of R with mathematical models is developed in recent years, which also needs plenty of relevant parameters considered. The study reported in this paper uses artificial neural network to determine R. Five dimensionless variables are considered to analyse the CO2 immiscible displacement process. An optimal model is chosen with its suitable hidden layer nodes and activation functions for the hidden and output layers. Its performance is compared with the numerical simulation model, demonstrating the superior performance of the proposed R prediction model.

The fictitious thermal source (FTS) method has always been the popular analytical way to solve heat transfer of buried pipes. Aiming at complicated conditions, simplified model and procedure based on the FTS method often casts doubts upon the results. Therefore, a numerical simulation method with circle boundary condition is validated comparing to the accurate temperature profile of buried steel pipe without insulation calculated by the FTS method. Then, the simulation method is used to verify calculation error when solving insulated pipes by the FTS method. The comparison shows that it is difficult to obtain accurate temperature profile for buried insulated pipe by the FTS method. However, the average temperature and heat loss are more precise and can be used to solve complicated problems by the analytical method.

As a kind of clean energy, gas heat source will play more and more important role in the future heating system. However, the research for the heat source optimization and dispatch of coal fired and gas fired source co-heating system is quite few in china. In this paper, the characteristic of coal fired and gas fired source co-heating system is proposed, and formulas and parameter selection method for the typical heat source operation scheduling schemes were given. By taking an actually heating network as an example, procedure and method for some heat source dispatch schemes are provided, and the optimal operating scheme based on technical and economic analysis is given. The method provided in this paper may supply the theoretical basis for operation scheduling of realistic engineering heating network. It is very meaningful for saving energy and improving environment.

Due to the simplicity and high recommending quality, collaborative filtering algorithms are the most successful recommender techniques and wildly used in e-commerce recommender systems. However, such systems are vulnerable to profile inject attack which is employed by inserting biased profiles into systems in order to influence the recommendations. In this paper, we propose a novel method against reverse bandwagon profile inject attack model. Our method is basing the standard collaborative filtering algorithms. Experiment results show that our method has better performance against reverse bandwagon attack model.

The mechanics properties of CFRP-PCPs composite rebars under uniaxial load was studied by experiment. The results showed that the application of a reasonable amount of prestress to the prisms can limit service load deflections and crack width to acceptable levels, using CFRP-PCP composite rebars as reinforcement utilizes high strength of FRP effectively, reducing the reinforcement ratio and consequently the cost while simultaneously satisfying structural requirements.

Microporous carbons (MCs) for supercapacitors were prepared from coal tar pitch (CTP) with potassium hydroxide (KOH) as activating agent at different KOH/CTP mass ratio by different heating modes. The results show that the specific surface area (SBET), micropore surface area (Smic), total pore volume (Vt) and micropore volume ((Vmic) of MCs made by microwave heating at 30 min heating time increases with the KOH/CTP mass ratio, respectively. At 14/7 of the KOH/CTP mass ratio, the SBET of MCs made by microwave heating at 30 min heating time reaches 1786 m2/g while that of MCs made by conventional heating at 180 min heating time is 1769 m2/g. The specific capacitance and energy density of the former reaches 269 F/g and 9.2 Wh/kg in 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte while that of the latter is up to 307 F/g and 10.5 Wh/kg, respectively. And yet, the former brings bigger MC yield and bigger retention of energy density. The effects of the pore size distribution and pore volume on the specific capacitance and energy density of MC samples with the similar SBET by different heating modes are addressed in this paper.

An intensive study is given to basic features of rotating machinery early faults and common diagnosis method, And also summarized the research status of early diagnosis in the field of mechanical equipment signal feature extraction and fault diagnosis, analyzed the current problems, and finally briefly pointed out the development of early fault diagnosis in machinery applications.

This paper reports an expermiental study on mechanical behaviors of structural concrete using recycled aggregates from repeatedly recycling waste concrete. Five series of natural aggregate concretes with compressive strengths of 25MPa, 30MPa, 40MPa, 50MPa and 60MPa were used as recycled coarse and fine aggregates to produce recycled concrete with an objective compressive strength of 30MPa after they were cured for 28d. These recycled concretes were used as aggregates to produce concrete with the same objective compressive strength of 30MPa. The cycles were carried on until the indices evaluating the quality of recycled coarse or fine aggregate exceeded the tolerance. The mechanical behaviors of these concrete were tested. The results indicates that that with the increase of the cyclic number, the mechanical properties of recycled concrete, including compressive strength, tensile splitting strength, modulus of elasticity, gradually stabilize after obviously decreaing in the first instance.

The quality of pre-investigation and other reasons would lead to the disagreement between the depth of prefabricated vertical drain(PVD) and actual soft ground foundation. All these factors would have a seriously bad effect on the subsidence and the stability of soft ground foundation. The author combines the Suining-Ziyang-Meishan expressway project, detailedly analyses the correlation between different depths of PVD and actual soft ground foundation based on observation settlement data. The results shows: Before the limit fill height(LFH), with load increases, the depth of PVD has little effect on subsidence rate, the curve of PVD depth-subsidence rate is approximately linear; when backfilling height exceeds the LFH, the closer depth of PVD is to actual depth, the more obvious soft foundation reinforcement effect is, the larger rate and value of subsidence are. However, when PVD depth is 1m deeper than the actual, subsidence rate decreases. In addition, according to the difference of observation total settlement and theoretical calculation settlement due to the difference between PVD depth and actual, adjust preloading period to meet the requirements of pavement construction and post-construction settlement.

Abstract: A method was developed for the analysis of hydroxylated brominated diphenyl ethers (OH-PBDEs) in plant samples using an ultra performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (UPLC-ESI-MS/MS) in negative mode. Plant samples were extracted and cleaned up through florisil column, resolved on a 100 mm C18 column with linear gradient elution and detected by mass spectrometry in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. The method provided good recoveries ranging from 68.2% to 94.6%, relative standard deviation (RSD) in the range of 3.2%–9.1%, and limits of quantification (LOQ) defined as the signal-to-noise ratio of 10 of 0.3–2.1 ng/g. It allowed a fast separation and sensitive quantification of the isomers and homologues of seven OH-PBDE congeners 2′-OH-BDE-3, 3′-OH-BDE-7, 4′-OH-BDE-17, 3′-OH-BDE-28, 3-OH-BDE-47, 5-OH-BDE-47 and 6-OH-BDE-47. The method was successfully applied to identify and quantify the formation of hydroxylated metabolites in alfalfa exposed to BDE-209. Five OH-PBDEs were detected in plant tissues, and more congeners were found in roots than in shoots. To our knowledge, this work represents the first attempt to validate UPLC-MS/MS method to quantify OH-PBDEs in plant samples without derivatization.

The properties of recycled coarsee aggregates from repeatedly recycling waste concrete were determined. In this study, five series of concrete mixtures using coarse and fine natural aggregates were prepared, which have the same objective slump value from 35mm to 50mm and different compressive strengths ranging from 25MPa to 60 MPa. These five concretes were crushed, sieved, washed with water, hot treatmented at 300? before they were used as recycled aggregates. After that, recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) was produced with an objectively compressive strength of 30MPa, in which the recycled coarse aggregate was used as 30%, 70% and 90% replacements of natural coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate as 10%, 20%, and 30% replacements of natural fine aggregate. After that, these recycled concretes were used as second recycled aggregates to produce RAC with the same objectively compressive strength of 30MPa. The physical properties of coarse aggregates including apparent density, water absorption, attached mortar content and crushing value were tested and their mineral characteristics were analyzed. The results showed that the quality of recycled coarse aggregates from twicely recycling waste concrete reached the requirements from structural concrete.

As one of the most important reservoir parameters, irreducible water saturation, Swir, is a key parameter in evaluating multi-phase flow, as well as its importance in defining oil in-place. Residual oil saturation, the target of tertiary recovery, is also a function of Swir. In traditionally, Swir is determined by conducting capillary pressure experiments, requiring considerable resources and long time periods, with the consequence of a limited number of core plug evaluations for a particular reservoir. Thus, the estimation of Swir with mathematical models is developed in recent years. The study reported in this paper uses artificial neural network to determine Swir. The optimal model is chosen among 25 simulations, subtilizing different combinations of hidden layer nodes and activation functions for the hidden and output layers. Its performance is compared with other conventional models, demonstrating the superior performance of the proposed Swir prediction models.

Activated carbon (AC) was prepared from lignite by microwave heating ZnCl2. The pore structure parameters of AC are characterized by nitrogen adsorption technique. The AC and ruthenium oxide/AC composite are characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscope. Electrochemical properties of ACs and ruthenium oxide/AC composite electrodes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and constant current charge–discharge after AC was pre-oxidized by HNO3 solution. The results show that the specific surface area and total pore volume of AC from lignite reaches 1310 m2 g-1 and 0.80 cm3 g-1, respectively. The micropore volume of AC from lignite totals only 12.5%. AC and ruthenium oxide/AC composite electrodes with 5wt.% ruthenium oxide loading show high cycle stability. Compared to pristine AC electrode, specific capacitance of ruthenium/AC composite electrode and energy density of ruthenium/AC capacitor after 100 charge-discharge cycles increases 40.8% and 39.1%, respectively.

The synthesis of a new triazene reagent 1-(4-antipyrine)-3-(sulfanilic acid)-triazene (ASTA) and is proposed as a new sensitive reagent for the extractive spectrophotometric determination of Zinc(II) was established. The results showed that in the presence of micromulsion Tween-80, ASTA could reacted with Zn ( ?) to form a red stable complex of which the molar ratio of reagent?metal was 2?1 in Na2B4O7-NaOH medium. The maximum absorption peak of the complex was located at 520 nm with the apparent molar absorption of 1.7×105 L•mol-1•cm-1. Beer?s law was obeyed in the range of 0.3~5.0 µg/10 mL for Zn (?) and the detection limit was 0.11 mg/L. Many ions did not interfere the colour reaction system due to the existence of ammonia. This method was applied to determination of Zn (?) in water samples, and the results were in accordance with those obtained by AAS method. Recovery was in the range of 96.5~101.5 % and the RSD(n=6) was not more than 1.4%.

The sodium alginate fossilization Sphingomonas strains have double features: the biological absorption and biological degradation. And through using them to remove COD in the seawater we can see the pH value has highly significant impact on the removal rate, in addition, when the temperature is 37?, pH value is 7.0, the pellet concentration is 1.0 g/L, the rotating speed is 120 r / min and oscillate for 90 min, the removal effect is the best. Pure strains, embedding micro-organisms have better removal efficiency of COD, indicating that microbes play a major role on the removal of COD, and microbial removal efficiency is the best after cultivated for 24 h, for microorganism is in the strongest logarithm phase at that time. However, the adsorption of COD mainly comes from functional groups on the surface of sodium alginate adsorption. The removal rate of COD in seawater treated by immobilized thallus can reach 86%, and can reach Class ?seawater quality standards after purified. The study has the features of maintaining the multi-enzyme system of microbial cells, having less effect on microbial activity and also having obvious treatment effect; furthermore, its operation is simple, it requires less equipment and with lower prices.

Based on the theory of Fisher discriminant analysis, this paper aims to develop the Fisher discriminant function model by using the representative water inrush data from the floor of coal mining face, considering comprehensively the factors that affect the water inrush from coal floor. The predicted result is consistent with the actual situation, which corresponds with or better than that of the least squares support vector machine, artificial neural network, and so on. The results indicate that this model is a new effective way of predicting the water inrush from floor and can be widely used in the practical engineering because of the low resubstitution error rate and good distinguishing performance.
