Abstract

OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS increasing consideration has been given to the effects of homicide on surviving family members. This research has been crucial in highlighting the severe and chronic grief of families in this situation. How-ever, much of this work has focused on the parents or spouse of a victim, with perhaps less attention being paid to the young people involved. This paper reports themes from a workshop of adults who, as children, were bereaved by homicide of a parent or sibling and makes recommendations for action. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
