This paper describes the design philosophy of HYDRA —the kernel of an operating system for C.mmp, the Carnegie-Mellon Multi-Mini-Processor. This philosophy is realized through the introduction of a generalized notion of "resource," both physical and virtual, called an "object." Mechanisms are presented for dealing with objects, including the creation of new types, specification of new operations applicable to a given type, sharing, and protection of any reference to a given object against improper application of any of the operations defined with respect to that type of object. Abstract: Recent results from the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be presented on PbPb and pPb collisions at and 5.02 TeV, respectively. A general discussion on the global features of heavy ion collisions — including charged particle production and its angular distributions — will be followed by various studies using “hard probes” of the created medium, such as jets, quarkonium states and electroweak gauge bosons. We present a brief overview of the most relevant current issues related to quarkonium production in high energy proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions along with some perspectives. After reviewing recent experimental and theoretical results on quarkonium production in pp and pA collisions, we discuss the emerging field of polarisation studies. Afterwards, we report on issues related to heavy-quark production, both in pp and pA collisions, complemented by AA collisions. To put the work in broader perpectives, we emphasize the need for new observables to investigate the quarkonium production mechanisms and reiterate the qualities that make quarkonia a unique tool for many investigations in particle and nuclear physics. The article focuses on a report, which describes the localization of chicken muscle FBPase in cardiomyocyte nuclei. M. Zmojdzian and colleagues of the University of Wroclaw reported that a result of the electron microscopic investigation was confirmed by immunoblotting analysis. Using MALDI Q-TOF mass spectrometry and the Mascot program, the nuclear FBPase was identified as muscle chicken FBPase. FBPase activity in isolated cardiomyocyte nuclei was 5.9 mU/g. Zmojdzian and colleagues published the results of their research in "Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology B - Biochemistry & Molecular Biology."
